Good morning!!!!

Drinking first cup of coffee. 54° with light rain this morning. Heading to 67° with rain ending after lunch. Another 1" of rain since yesterday morning. Good thing I have good drainage around my place. Need to get some grocery shopping done this morning.

Thomas, enjoy that last slow roll home. :cloud9:

Drew I would be calling FedEX. The smell of the paint is what made driver do it. Porch look great. Now the old Kindle will show up.

David, I still have my camera/monitor setting on the shelf. Will be interest what mounting you use.

Don, nice truck. Hope it has a good charger for iPhone.

CWB, good fall colors. Little white color would be better. :D

Buckeye, 400 slides scanned. What are you using? I have boxes of them to do.

RNG, waiting for pictures of you latest projects.

Prayers for all in need.

Good Morning All.

Good morning. It's 70° here and forecast back to 94° this afternoon. Four more days of mid 90's then high 80's for a few days ..... maybe.

Drew ... you need to make a sign "wet paint / pintura húmeda". . We've had the same UPS guy, here at the ranch, he even has our gate code for deliveries when we're away. Rarely see a FedEx driver, except for deliveries from Sam's Club. Always seems to be different guys. Your porch look great!

Thomas ... have a great last slow roll then join the rest of us in retirement.

BEF .... there are a couple of services that will convert pictures, slides, beta video, VHS video, to digital format for you.

Jay ..... sorry you had issues with the idiots over on FP. If you upset them, they'll take things you say here and try to use as insults over there. It's always the same ones, you can count on it. If you play over there .... make sure you put on your big boy pants. One of them ... posts here occasionally, another used to, and the others just lurk over here. I just treat it as "sport".

Don .... time jack up your new Ranger and get some 33's on it.

Hope everyone has an excellent Friday Eve.

Prayers to all.

38 right now...high in the lower 50's and a bit of rain.

Audit went good...2 pretty insignificant minor findings. I'm off for a couple mental health days...so, no work until next Monday

Good morning! The last "Slow roll to work day" for Thomas! Yeah! Time to start and adjust to the next phase of life - enjoying every day to the fullest.

Temps mid 70s to mid 90s and repeat, repeat repeat . . . .

The trailblazing group really liked my snake boots because they scared off all the snakes - no sightings in the waist high vegetation. We continue again Friday, today I figure out everything on the truck.

Rick not jacking up the Ranger (until it's out of warranty). It does not have a fast charging pad I have to plug it in to one of the 4 USB ports, it's suppose to have a 110 plug somewhere, still looking. Might need to dry my hair on the way to the garden.

The 120 volt outlet may be on the rear side of the console? That's where it's been on my last two F-350's. I also have a 120 volt AC and USB port on the dash.

Good Morning!!!! 57F @ 5:15AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 76F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.

Glad you like the new truck, Don. Sounds like you found a gem of a dealer. Not sure I'd trade a big back seat for a short bed like that, though. Be interesting to see how that works out for you.

Welcome to the ranks of the unemployed/retired, Thomas! Do you have to turn in your ID badge when you leave for the last time?

Finished the footer for the retaining wall on the propane terrace yesterday; lots of tamping on the moistened road base has left my fingers stiff this morning. Today I hope to get the blocks I have put back on the new footer, and figure out how many more I'll need. Hopefully Home Depot can get them loaded this time without breaking out the window on the camper shell like they did last time.

Had some time to start the red motorcycle up after replacing the top end; felt a breeze coming from the left side and found a valve cover gasket misaligned. Don't know how that happened, but only took a few minutes to fix. Hope to get a ride in on it today.

The wind was very calm yesterday evening, perfect for folding up the ratty tarp that's been covering the fire truck, and putting on the new one. Surprise, surprise, the box that the new tarp came in had two of them in there; no wonder it was so expensive (and heavy)! Got two ratchet straps holding it on, but want to get a couple more from Harbor Freight so it won't flap so much in the wind.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!:cool2:

Lots'a purty pichers, no price tag. I guess if I have to ask, I can't afford it, right? Just as well; pumping another 25% horsepower through the stock drive line prolly ain't such a good idea anyway.

FWIW, my '85 Ranger cost me a whopping $5500 out the door. I bet they've gone up a little since then, huh?

I bet Don .... knows.

John Hennessey's team do great "magic".

His shop is about 30 miles East of the Ranch, right on I-10.

We are talking about charging speed, right? :confused3:

Got my Ranger today I put the pic and review after a 1hour drive on the new Ranger thread here:
https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums...24-new-ranger-review-12.html?highlight=ranger
Still have to program MyKey and garage door opener and test a few more things, very impressed so far.

Am the only one not getting the right thread when clicking the link? It takes me to a new holland thread.

Was the 2017 a lease?

I don’t currently own a Charger, soooooooo... but there are two in my past.

Was going by a dodge dealer yesterday, I said let’s pick up a charger. Wife says, for your phone? I blew it by saying no. I mean, I could use it to charge my phone.

Cables are nice, 4 pin aviator connectors.

Don’t know about the magnets, will try tomorrow and see.

Finding the right mounting point may be more challenging than I thought. Mounted them with zip ties where I planned, but no re if I’ll get the angles I want. Hoping to see quick attach mounts, bucket edge, and end of forks in front. Hope to see 3 pt and rear of mower in back. Would prefer a stable mount and my aluminum frame doesn’t lend itself to magnets unless I get creative. Either studs or maybe HF magnet bar. I’d also like to keep cables inside my frame.

The DVR and picture taking functions are likely overkill, but never know.

Nice system. I bought a small display and one camera for under $50 a couple yrs ago. Never installed it.

skip all the big shocks and tires, just give me the horsepower.
and speaking of big shocks, parked next to a new Ford Raptor this morning at barbers, and just stared at all the bright red
shocks, quite the suspension set up on that. I'm sure the guy waxes his shocks, no kidding, they are out there to impress. Reds and blues
in the wheel well, and now you're going to get it dirty?

Boy if I had Hennessy as a neighbor I'd be in trouble.
And even better, throw in Banks too for the diesels.

I'm a 20 20 man.
Always wanted 20 more hp and wanted to lose 20 pounds...
of course if I lost the weight, might not need more hp......

off to finish the porch. Including repainting about ten boot prints...
I can just imagine the guy's eyes when he got up to the door and realized he was
walking in wet paint, that Oh Stuff moment, as he turned and then left the package
not in the wet paint but on the previously painted steps.
I take some responsibility here. I did not take the time to do what I did three years ago, putting
the paint can between the two orange safety cones.
Apparently that is what's needed to turn the light bulb on.

didn't stop the barber in time, wiped me down with some smelly stuff on a towel,
geez I hate that. Just makes me bug bait.

David, I still have my camera/monitor setting on the shelf. Will be interest what mounting you use.

Buckeye, 400 slides scanned. What are you using? I have boxes of them to do.

.

My camera and monitor on a shelf also. I bought a super strong magnetic mount for one of them, maybe the monitor.

Scanned 661 total slides. These are some I brought back from my parents once to scan and forgot about. Found them digging in my office the other day. Most were in trays which make it much faster as you know the direction of the slide.

Using a canoscan 9000F. It has a slide insert that makes placement easy. Put top of slide towards lid hinge, if slide says toward screen, put that side up.
IMG_1665.JPG

Software comes with scanner. I use custom scan at 2400 dpi. It will scan up to 4800 dpi. Takes a little longer. Yrs ago I scanned slides on old scanners at only 300 dpi.

I also save pics using the slide date yyyymm if I can read it on the slide. It will auto increment a number after this.

I used to use one, but my son won’t do it now he has a real job.

It was harder to do because of my finger pain.

I have a vhs dvr recorder combo that I used to put all my vhs on dvd. Now I’m converting those to mp4.

Already scanned thousands of pics. I found a few since that need scanned.

Roy, take care of yourself. No big jobs or complications for awhile.
You might need more sophisticated tests, the stuff the insurance companies don't like paying for.
Otherwise treat yourself to an ice cream cone and believe you are on vacation.
Slow and steady, be a tortoise for awhile...
Am concerned your work is taking its toll on you, the travel, the meetings.
Might be time to slow down. If I got those pains it would scare the heck out of me.
Actually I get them and know they are from neurological sources, my heart is a rock, ah, figuratively.

Just as smokers know they are going to have health issues,
heavy drinkers know they will too, but both rationalize the health risks as necessary in their case.
(Jay, my college psychology teachers would be proud...;))
And we sure now know, and thank you TxDon for being a nudge here, that what we have eaten all our lives,
those of us who didn't smoke and didn't drink too much, now we have to think about our arteries and our heart health.
Yes, we are what we eat. And inhale in our lives.

And sometimes stuff comes out of utter left field and you wonder why me?
And it doesn't matter for Roy, just be well.

Not as cold this morning, started at 37F, rough night with back pain, couldn't find a comfortable position.. last couple of days, work has been all day meetings remotely (with Skype).. not able to move around as much. Paid for it. Half day of planning meeting today, then other meetings, hopefully will get time to walk around and stretch more.

Stay safe, prayers for those in need.

If you scan the wrong way, you can flip them with software, just more work later. I found the date stamp on the slide has always been the opposite of this side towards screen marking. Not all have that marking, so put date down. Quick glance shows you the top usually.

Gotta keep wiping the glass for dust. It really shows up on a blue sky.
