In another month or two it will be time to renew (or replace) the insurance on both the Homeowner's policy AND the Auto policy. We currently have annual, instead of 6 month, AAA insurance policies. When we had the roof replaced recently due to hail damage, the roofing guy said there is sure better insurance.

Anyone have anything good, or bad, to say about any particular insurance company? One that I'm curious about is Liberty Mutual Insurance.

txdon said, "Bird, My mom has no tickets so the mystery continues. If you go with your granddaughter to get her license I would not ask them to solve the mystery - you might get your 9.5 year expiration date change"

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:Don, I've thought the same thing. But I had no intention of going with them anyway. I sure am curious as to how or why, but I've heard that curiosity killed the cat, so I reckon I'll leave well enough alone.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Liberty Mutual declined to renew my homeowners insurance back in '16, saying the home was too far from a fire station and had a long gravel driveway. Prior to that, they'd raised the premium every year I was with them, so I don't have much good to say about the company.

Good Morning!!!! 76F @ 5:00AM. Sunny. High 102F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.
Another bad air day, at least for this morning. Yesterday it cleared out around noon, so I'm hoping for more of the same for today.

Were you close enough to hear the burners roar on the balloon, Ron?

Those sheep must have been hungry, and strong, to do that to your fence, Eric. 😄

Looks like you found a little bit of adventure there, Fuddy. Thanks for sharing.

Neither the truck nor the van will fit in the garage, Paul. They're both too tall to get under the door. No room in there for much besides a bunch of motorcycles and shop equipment anyway.😄

Yesterday went a little better with the conduit than the day before, except for forgetting a coupler on the second piece, and having to pull the wire back out and redo it. Could'a had three pieces installed, but instead ended up with only two for the day. It was another scorcher, so I knocked off a little early and drank about a half gallon of ice water before dinner.

Still two pieces of conduit left for today, and I need to install a junction box before I can finish them. So I'll start with that this morning, after the smoke clears out.

So far the firefighters have managed to keep the small town of Greenville from burning, but the fire is now close enough that Mandatory Evacuations were issued for the much larger town of Chester. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for today and tomorrow, with even stronger winds and single digit humidity, so the firefighters have really got their work cut out for them.

59°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 84° today. Daily highs are creeping back up towards the 90s.

Need to get some grass mowed today after work. I noticed last night that it looks like someone must have thrown a bunch of fertilizer around the chicken coop, where the grass is suddenly a foot tall. The crab grass is going crazy this year.

Also need to repair the lids on the laying boxes on the chicken coop sometime this week. They are not aging well at all.

That's an insane price for plywood, Paul, birch or otherwise.

Good morning all.
Took the deck off the mower-straightened it out and sharpened the blades.
Cuts real well now and finished as the sun set.

Bird-we use Liberty Mutual and have had good luck with them on house and auto-raised rates but we don;t have hydrants and no issues with insuring.

BEF - our cat had a similar issue many years ago-she probably would have lived ok for a bit, but the treats we gave her were the tainted ones from china- did not know until a long time later that this was what pushed her over the edge.
Happy belated birthday Randy!
Drew - we had 5 tornadoes touch down- one down the road from me- not too much damage here though-neighbor checked on house for us. So now 6 verified tornadoes in 2 years, which is 6 more than any of us can remember.

LS - can they do anything to stop the knee swelling and make it easier on you?
PJS - prayers for your FIL

Stay safe and be well- more plants to replace for wifey today

Thanks for all the well wished for my father-in-law. He's in a great hospital with renown specialists. No one can see him yet, as he tested positive for Covid when he got there. He's had a mild case for a few weeks, and had been on the upside of recovery. But, since he still tests positive, their policy is no visitors. His sister spoke with his doctor, and was told he is paralyzed on his left side, same side as last time. He can speak, but words are slow to form. He had to do speech therapy last time, too. We're hoping for a similar recovery this time as well.

I tend to stay away from companies that spend millions of dollars advertising on TV and Radio. Maybe I am wrong. But someone has to pay that bill. My insurance is with a Michigan based company. Only advertisement I have ever seen for them is on I 75 near Flint. But every independent insurance agent around here represent them.

Good morning to all! Low of 54°, going up to 81°. Chance of a t-storm later.... yesterday's forecasted showers didn't happen. Temps start climbing back up to around 90 by the weekend.

Got most of the landscape beds around the house re-mulched / topped off yesterday, but still have about 16' of one to do. Probably do that this morning. That will finish off my stock pile of mulch.... I'll have to get another few yards for the new beds. I'll wait to take advantage of the Labor day sales.

Max goes to the groomers early this afternoon. After we get back, I might take the string trimmer for a walk. The bump head gave out last week about midpoint in the areas I was cutting. A new one that was ordered finally came in, so have to install it first. The OEM (cub cadet) only cost $13.50..... and $11.10 to ship it! I might have to go to the 'rant on shipping' thread....

Rethinking that, maybe just get the trimmer ready to go, and take it for a walk tomorrow morning when it is cool....

Everyone have a great day!

Buckeye, cost of a new AC will make you double check fan every time.

.

Some real estate companies will go to great measures to get you to sign up.

I didn’t take a video before I started taking out the mud dauber nest when it was REALLY LOUD, but did take videos yesterday, before and after. I need to put them into one video to hear the obvious difference.

Botetourt, Craig, Montgomery, Salem, Bedford, Giles

I’ve been looking for retirement land in Augusta and rock ridge, but haven’t found anything interesting. Might have to go further south.
Friend just moved from Pulaski to NC.

Emu’s are expensive.

I find that true with many companies, including plumbers, etc. but haven’t found a good low cost insurance company. I have Erie, like all the rates keep going up.

I might have to check that out. I once went to Catawba to eat at the homeplace.
