Not finished, but a convenient stopping point. Given the other pics posted today I had to think that maybe this wasn’t a bad view from caretaker kitchen

The other 2 still need to be caulked and painted

Good afternoon
16°f snowing and windy 15-30 mph. About 4" so far, supposed to hit 2-3" per hour shortly. It's definitely a do nothing day. The misses is making some chicken soup for supper and we'll find a movie to watch.

Stay safe and enjoy your day everyone.

This is for you Sodamo although the summer views are better!

Very true.
Had a house, 8 Nubble Rd back in 70’s. 3 story, 10 room Victorian. Sold it in ‘77 for $55k. My mortgage was $120/month. State was about to pass a new law that would burden coastal property with higher property taxes to support less prosperous areas. Mine were projected to exceed $5k/yr, way beyond my means. Times do change.

Understand there is a million dollar house there now with a new street #. A google street view shows many many changes.

Don’t know if they razed and replaced or just remodeled. Many of the lines are same and footprint. Closed in is the wrapping veranda on left and port a chere on road side of house.

The 3 house to the right are pretty much unchanged except the middle one used to be pink.

The one on left used to be a simple, 2 story, single family with a single car detached garage. Definitely razed and replaced.

Prices have sure gone up since then! I understand the property tax thing it’s a problem in NH that’s how the schools are funded. If we had an income and sales tax too I’d be living under a bridge in a cardboard box.
Nice job on the caretaker unit keep the pic’s coming.

Spent a little time working out in the woodshed. For the newcomers, I don’t have a working wood stove right now, but had at least a cord of wood I brought from my last house 25 yrs ago. I built a woodshed behind my shed. Over time the roof material blew off, it never got fixed, and roof rotted. So some of the wood is rotted, some still very good. I use it for camping and the fire pit at the house. I cut dead trees and add to it.
Decided winter was the best time to clean it up, because in the summer there’s snakes and bees. I’m putting the good wood in a tote, been burning the rotten stuff along with other rotten wood pieces.
IMG_3529.JPG

The back row of wood is frozen together, so used forks on FEL and got a big frozen bunch moved out into the sun to thaw.

My helper was a little less helpful today. But when I went back into house, it came in and slept on my lap after a grueling outdoor nap.

Was too windy to burn today, but got more ready to go.

Spent a good bit of time trying to locate pictures from a Minnesota/ Wisconsin trip back in 1997. I know I have them, but can’t find on 3 computers and a backup drive. I know I scanned them, remember looking at them before. Got a feeling they were never labeled, or miss labeled and are in a wrong directory.

Tonight’s state picture is Alabama, going alphabetical by abbreviation.
AL_DesotoFalls2014.jpeg

Desoto falls in little river canyon up on lookout mountain outside of Fort Payne. Been here twice, used to have a friend live close to here. The group Alabama sing about this river, and they live real close to it. I’ve driven by Randy Owens and Jeff Cooks houses.. Randy has a working cattle farm, and there are YouTube videos of him on his tractor. Lovely mountain.

Good morning, low temp -1 and going up to 14°F. Wind calm. 30% chance of flurries.

Another energy conservation day for me.

Have a safe day all

Morning all! 5 above with 12 mph winds. Think I'll have another coffee before venturing outside. Looks like we got lucky and ended up with about a foot total. Need to clear the drifts and finish cleanup. Here is a shot off of our front cam this morning: There is a brick walkway under there somewhere. I already shoveled it 3 times.
Hope everyone stays warm, safe and healthy!

Are you still having a hard time finding ammo for this gun? I've looked a few times when in Green Top and online, but didn't see any, and haven't thought about it in a while.
