Good morning!!!!

Good Morning.
67 and going up a little, cloudy with thunderstorms this afternoon. Sim passed through overnight, leaving about 7/10” of rain.

Yesterday was busy. Started by helping a buddy with a vintage Capris, which was actually a Fox Body Mustang with a Mercury badge. He replaced the entire AC system with an R134a system. Everything is new from the Condenser to the Evaporator, even the accumulator, compressor and all the lines. He needed to pressure test, evacuate, add oil and charge it with refrigerant. He did a great job with the install system was tight and evacuated to under 200 microns. When we were done, you could get the cabin as cold as you could stand.
While I had the AC tools out, next stop was another friend to see what was wrong with his house AC. Replaced the compressor run capacitor and it worked, but needed some refrigerant. Looked for leak without success, it wasn’t down much, so I’m not surprised I couldn’t find it.

Got home, changed a tire on the progressive mower, so hopefully it will be good for the season now. Did some weed whacking and a little work on the mailbox before calling it a day.

Today I’ll probably cut the bottom out of the mailbox and weld a stainless one in. I’ve got some paper work to wade through, but somehow that always seems to get put off.

Was it the early one with the Mustang rear window or the later bubble glass?

others will disagree but if you don't have to run the engine flat out, as almost all commercial guys do, and your blades are reasonably sharp, if you can
back off the throttle 10 or 15 percent, you'll save a lot of gas
Need good engine speed for cooling air cooled engine, but not flat out.

I get a better cut at near WOT, even with new blades, but yes it sucks the fuel at higher RPM.

speaking of ice cream, taking my elderly MIL here in a few hours.

Toppop, I had a Capri with the 2.8 V6 and automatic. Pretty car, nice saddle brown leather interior, complete dog.
Used to run it out to Summit Point raceway and watch the Vegas and Pintos screech around the turns.

now I'm wondering if my "intelligent automatic" is so intelligent.
First three broccoli florets.
First pic seemed dark, and I had remembered to pop up flash. No flash. Seems too dark.
So....I turned the knob to A which I believe is aperture and lo and behold it flashed and a totally different picture.
Hmmm.
But which one is better?

I also noticed on the brighter pic it's only really focused on the front floret. While on the "intelligent" setting the focus is equal.
Lot to learn.

I've seen that lactaid brand, will try it. I really want to avoid the sugar, hard to do with questionable artificial sweeteners.

Bottom picture not as clear but more realistic.

Good morning tractor people. It’s June 2 and still had to light a fire, in the hills south of Portland. No veggies in the ground yet👎🏻. It’s Friday junior!

Drew, you found Depth of Field when you locked Aperture. Why only a small part is in focus.
Great for blurring backgrounds.
Aperture is the lens opening/closing. Speed would be my choice to increase the DOF and increase the light saturation in this scene.

Intelligent mode should have a spot focus mode, which would see the light level where you select the focus spot and would also fix this issue.

Lou -A1/A2 is Milk protein, Lactose is a sugar. I can't digest lactose at all.
Some people have a problem with too much lactose, I can't have any.

The proteins would be for milk allergy, so this sounds like it might be a solution for them.

We just make our own ice cream. Ripe frozen bananas make a good base. Added vanilla beans make it a very good vanilla and adding coco makes for a good chocolate frozen desert. We also use frozen mango, frozen strawberries, frozen peaches, etc . . . No fatty oils or sugar is needed.

67F, overcast, and wet @ 13:30. Calling for a high of around 71F for the day. Should start seeing some breaks in the clouds by around 17:00. Still some rain around in all directions, but none really close by.

Final rain total at the local weather station for yesterday ended up being 0.44" ... so close to half an inch. That will certainly keep things greened up and growing ... (y)

Woman just poked her head outside a bit ago and proclaimed "It's cold !" ... then headed out to weed the flower bed in back after locating Her tools ... in a pair of shorts and a short-sleeved shirt ...

I'll need to start getting what She has gotten done mulched in the coming days, otherwise I'll be in trouble.

I'm guessing that it's probably too wet out to do much beyond what She is doing, so I'll be headed up to the shop to get back to working on the Kubota at some point.

Got a text from the local Kubota dealer yesterday saying that the front axle pivot bushing was in so probably run over there at some point.

Amazon delivery due in today - another 3 oil filters for the Cub, some pepper spray dog repellent for The Woman, and 5 more grow bags ... which will allow us to get the gladiolus and ranunculus bulbs planted.

Might see if I can get the frame on the Water Buffalo screwed together now that I have all the pieces.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Thursday ... (y)

"Was told Dad fixed the electric wire, put a piece of barbed wire around it to hold it on."

I had to laugh. When I saw that picture I thought all he needs to do is cinch a couple of lenghts of wire around that tree and he will be back in business. Great minds think alike.:ROFLMAO:

Chris

I said it will keep the cows out of it.

"Chris, still a current model, looks nice, good Vanguard engine weighs almost 1000 pounds, lot of machine"

There is a Simplicity dealer in southern Lancaster County who's web page shows a new Contender for $7250 and a leftover 2019 for $6000 but they are out of stock. It felt like I was paying too much but I kind of needed it.

The reviews said the seat back leaned back too much. Yup. Maybe I can rig some spacers.

And they also said the fuel gauge shows empty when there is 1/2 a tank. That seems to be true too. I need to get a stick to check it with.

Looks like it is going to be thirsty. I filled it to start and it looked like it was mostly empty when I finished. The gas stick will help check fuel consumption.

Chris

TractorData.com Simplicity Contender 25/52 tractor information

When I compare mowers I focus on engine and which transmission. That has ZT3200 transmission, there is ZT3400, mine has ZT3600. There will be different models of engines, it just depends on the price point of the mower.

Grass mowed early before the worst of the heat. Really haven’t done too much since, I plan to make that job last a while.

The grass is cut, the dump run done and now for the you tube rabbit hole.

On lactose intolerance, at first I thought it was just an allergy to coloured cheese. Now I know exactly what it is all about with me anyway. I can have frozen yogurt in small quantities, as well as almost any white cheese (old cheese), mozzarella and blue cheese, IF I should get into any food that I find too hot (spicy) then one ounce of milk works to put the 'fire' out but any more than that and I am in trouble. The pain across my guts tells me that I (a) over did it and (b) find a toilet pronto.

my old neighbor in NC sent me a nice pic of his ride for the day, NH 275 pulling a big grain cart in Terra Ceia, super fertile very flat land East of where I used to live. Very bottom of the rich swamp land that goes up to Elizabeth City and further. Very high yield land. Helping another farmer bring in a wheat crop.

Wow, Boo has a big bite.

Home before the rains. Got one short gentle rain, enough to raise humidity. 76° 90% humidity, .09” rain.

Snagglepuss curled on my lap as I sit on front porch. Dark menacing clouds overhead.

Interesting day. FedEx delivered my Starlink kit late afternoon. Was tempted to set up in temp location but didn’t. Had the J mount ready to install, but not hole in wall for cable. Sitting in its permanent home. Need to do some clean up tomorrow and cable management only on the wifi network and rather impressive considering we aren’t a full service area. Will have to see if the outages are tolerable. Doubt they can be more frustrating than my AT&T service of late.

Did you cancel your regular starlink order now that you have the RV one?
