Good morning to all! Low was finally 65° at around 04:00. It's already 78° at 08:30, going for a 97° high. There is a chance for some clouds covering that heat source for a bit this afternoon..... fingers crossed!

We now have chances for some T-storms on Friday. I am hopeful.....

Doug, those are some pretty cold temps.... oh wait.... that's Celsius.... duh!

Drew, enjoy the nice day and planting of trees!

Don, glad the water is still flowing to the garden. Yes, lots of catching up in the growing dept......

Got all of the hairs cut yesterday, and the scruff cleared off the face. Feels much better!

Gonna cut it short this morning and get some things done outside before the heat..... I'll check back in later.

81°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 100° today. Same for tomorrow and Wednesday. We're having a Hawaiian Weather Appreciation Week all week. Oh, and in addition to the temps, we also have around 70% humidity as well. Summer in the Midwest.

Got the grass mowed Saturday morning before it got too hot. I'd sharpened the blades on the ztr last weekend, and replaced the blades on the rider. Sharp blades made for much faster cutting, and I finished in about five hours instead of the usual six. Not bad. Wasn't too thrilled with spending $58 for mower gas, but what ya gonna do?

Installed a new outside keypad for the garage opener Sunday morning, something we've talked about for a few years and finally did. After that, started repairing one of The Wife's favorite step stools, which seems to be working itself apart. Disassembled it on the work bench and found there was hardly any glue at all used to make it. No wonder it got wiggly. Got one side glued and clamped, and realized I didn't have enough clamps big enough to finish it. So, a trip to Harbor Freight turned into a stop at Menard's as well for some other things. By the time I got back home around 1:30pm, it was too blazing hot in the garage to finish the stool, so I hopped back in the car and drove to Tractor Supply in Carlyle to pick up chicken feed. Might have to finish the stool in small bites. It certainly won't be any cooler in there after work this week.

Power restored @ 10:30.

It was a squirrel at our transformer.

But the fuse that tripped was further up the line.

Guy said he hoped the transformer would come back up because sometimes when they are as old as ours apparently is they don’t.

Something to keep in mind for the future.

79F and partly cloudy @ 11:00, HI 82F, heading up to a high of 86F. Calling for a high of 93F actual tomorrow, 98F on Wednesday, and 93F again on Thursday followed by a short cool down and then back up close to 90F by the following Tuesday.

Thankful to have power restored, knocking on wood that it stays that way ... for the next several days at least.

Plans for today:

Tighten hose on Water Buffalo, fill, and check for leaks.

Water potted plants, also blueberry bushes and other plants in garden. The one blueberry plant that has set a good amount of fruit needs the netting put over it so the birds don't get all the crop.

Fill that 55G aquarium and leak test it.

Haul garbage up to the can at the road.

Probably mow front if it needs it.

Heard back from one relative who is running behind on getting stuff planted this year in their garden, she said she would be happy to take some squash and pumpkin plants ... she's the one that raises day lilies and offered some of those in exchange ... (y)

May have to also see about moving potted plants into an area with partial shade, if I get the WB operational.

Hope everyone has a great and can stay (relatively) cool ... (y)

Went for a dump run and ... was pleased to see a nicely restored 30's model Ford sedan in the parking lot...nice listening to it start up and run through a couple gears.

Kyle, great photo of your son and the dogs. I was given one of these for Coconino and it helped get the balls out much farther than I could otherwise throw them...

When I was unloading my truck at the dump yesterday, I was parked beside a NICE 1952 Mercury big window pickup (black and red) ... I told them that the truck was too nice for dump runs, and then I invited them to our Friday car cruises :) They were from Alberta, but spend the summers here in BC

I have 2 of those ball chuckers - one for the dogs, the second one for egg - retrieval in the chicken coop (no more bending, stretching to awkward places) They work great. Neighbour bought a second one for the chickens after I told her of my method :)

Good Day Everyone
