The Temporary Installation will be a cobbled-together 22-foot mast with three guywires for stability. It will consist of the Starlink Tall ground post, which will slide over and be cross-bolted to a 10-foot length 1-1/4” EMT, which will be u-bolted/cross-bolted to a 10-foot length of Unistrut. This mast will be raised and bolted to the vertical piece of Unistrut that supports the aerial conduit from our solar panels to the house.I was so tired of the limited internet access I was getting with the hotspot on my phone, I just set the dishy on the ground and fired it up. I had some tree obstructions, but I had good internet access finally. It was about 10 months before I could get the dishy to it's permanent mounting location. Works even better now.
this will elevate McDishFace to level with the ridge line of the house, and emulate its eventual permanent position on the house, albeit approximately 20’ to the south.
in the photo A1 & A2 are the same height. B is a good approximation of the mast top without Dishy. C is a poor approximation of where Dishy would be height-wise on the mast, but an excellent guesstimate of where it would be in its permanent position.
it should be an interesting exercise. . .
