What kind of mileage does he get with it, Kyle?

Most reviews I've read agreed that its a powerful engine, but most drivers can't keep their foot out of it and pay for it at the pump.

The '17 model I drove had the normally aspirated version of the same engine, and it had plenty of poop going up a mountain pass. Sure, it only had two people in it, but I'm retired and not in any hurry to get anywhere...
My buddy says better mpg than his 5.0L V8. Not much lost at altitude with the turbos.
Your lead foot, your mpg. :)

Morning all, heavy rain last night , still windy 47 going up to 50 and cloudy

Day job took up most of the day, looks like latest layoffs complete, for now.
Did go out with wife for drinks/dinner at mexican place then home for movies and a fire.

Bloodwork came back and all looks fine, see Dr. next Friday to find out my BP is off the charts lately.

Too windy to work in the woods, trying not to wear Ash tree parts. But have caught up on some areas.
All the weedy bushes are blooming, so I know what to work on
Fox seems to like our front stairs and is there every few nights. Think we will have less varmints this summer. But more bugs with no long freezes.
Still need to cover garden to stop weeds and start indoor planting for tomatoes.
Blackberries trimmed back a few weeks ago look ready to start growing and I see some Tulips (the few left) and Daffodils trying to come up.

Calling for snow next weekend, but temps look too warm.

Be well,
I had bp spike a few weeks ago. Taking a small daily pill now. Much better.

Kilroy,
You might want to invest in a new breather cap, just sayin…..
You mean I just can’t soak it in some kero, blow it out with some compressed air, and call it good?

🤪

Kilroy, glad you got it figured out. Looks all rusted up.
RNG, the options you give up can be added via aftermarket I am sure.
When I ordered the Sprinter they screwed up and did not give me the suspension seat option. All the other options came through.
Are you mainly going to use it as a cargo van or are you converting to camper?
The high roof option on ours allow standing up without bumping the head.
The power of the engine looks good. Mine is only about 170 HP but it is plenty peppy I think. Yours with 275 and 10 speed transmission should be fine
It was a fun project - for varying values of “fun”. . .

When I had to replace The Steel Pig (my ‘93 Caprice wagon) back in 2016, I had a choice of the 302 or the EcoBoost 4cyl if I wanted it off the lot.

I needed it off the lot.

I went for the V8 because it was proven and (relatively) simpler. Someone I know a couple months later got the EB4, and last year had to drop $16G because something in the turbo system failed and the whole thing needed replacement.

I miss my ’75 Chevy - I could fix most things with Vise Grips and a hammer (yes, that is an exaggeration, but you get the idea. . . ) and my ‘70 AMC HAD ENOUGH ROOM FOR TWO SUITCASES UNDER THE HOOD - I could work on it in the rain, just climb in and close the hood. . .

Good morning, the low temp is 24 and the high to 43°F. Wind S 5 mph. 30% chance of flurries.

I managed to get almost 10 years out of a Shelter Logic Alpine shelter. I have replaced the roof on the other two once or twice, but this one is almost as old as my Kioti. I think the trick is to keep them out of the sun. It is on the north side of the house and protected by the bush on its' north end. The one good thing about this is that at the start of the Aligatoritus lockdown I bought 3 replacement covers. I have one left and that will work for the one that is toast.

Don't know what I will get up to today, but rest assured it wont be much.

Have a safe day all

Coffee is brewing. 33° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 44° with mix of sun and clouds. The wet snow was hard to plow. Turned out snow fall was over 11". Got my place and 3 others cleaned out. Tractor started to act up again with no fuel in filter. Loosening fuel cap only helped a little. Took tractor back to shop. Siphoned all the fuel out of tank. Ran all the fuel thru a filter. There was a few small pieces of dirt in the filter and a Earwig bug. Blew out all the fuel lines and put everything back together. Filled tank back up. Everything looked after starting engine up. Took tractor out and plowed 1/2 mile road next to my place with no problems. Must have been the Earwig that was blocking fuel line. Lots of limbs on the ground from this storm. Will wait for snow to melt before trying to pick them up. Turned out to be a nice day. Going to be a conserve energy day today. Along with some NASCAR in afternoon.

Good morning to all. Mid 50's headed to near 80 today. Worked outdoors yesterday for most of the day. Blazing sunshine and felt hot but was only near 80. Makes me wonder how I survive the Texas summers. Having a local do hay field renovation today. He charges $75/hr and estimated 3 hours work on 7 acres. Will mix up some glyphosate and spray drive and other areas to keep clean.

American Legion meeting tomorrow.
Entering service during my tenure: F-16 General Dynamics fighting falcon. Built now part of Lockheed Martin.
Sweet, compact, multirole.

To all have a safe happy Sunday.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

Dead-even 32F, nice and clear.

inpretty much updated on everything over the course of the day yesterday, I am hoping that, with the temps hitting the freezing mark, that another batch of walnut sap can be collected. I need to order more spikes & pails for next season - I have identified several more tappable trees on the woodlot. I also want to experiment with fermenting some sap and making walnut wine - how bad can it be?

thanks again to everyone who offered assistance with my stubborn oil breather/cap - it really was determined to stay on there!

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe restorative blessed day!

Good morning,

28°F now, highs in the low 40’s and may see some sun by late afternoon, wind WNW 10-15 mph.

Yesterdays storm brought 8-10” heavy snow by mid morning but then changed to part rain so wound up with 4-5” heavy wet slop by the time it ended around 3:00pm. Fortunately the high winds never happened in our area. The town plowed so many times and even brought out the wing plow there was a 2ft tall 3ft deep row at the end of the driveway. The little BX was having trouble getting through that until I realized you’re not in 4wd dumb a$$! Helped a couple of neighbors clear their driveway ends and called it a day.

May do dump run this morning and a bit more clean up but that’s about it for today.

Enjoy your day everyone, stay safe

29 and lots of frost going to 65. Heard the first gobbling of the year behind the house this morning before sunrise.

Kilroy, glad you got the cap off. See, talking to it sweetly instead of cussing works everytime.

Ron, it seems like the earwigs and ladybugs are everywhere and can squeeze into anything. Stinkbugs, too. Lotta snow.

Kyle, glad the med is helping. Reminds me I need to start checking my BP more often.

Split firewood and stacked yesterday and then got the blade trimmer out...started on second pull...Always a thrill to hear it come to life on the first or second pull. Cut all the old asparagus stalks, and a patch of briars and stalky weeds, some canna stalks, and a few volunteer weed trees. Nice big tarp full, twice, to pull to my brush pile. Wore myself out.

Drinking a nice Guatemala this morning. Time to make a pour-over cup for my wife, who I hear stirring in the bedroom.

Good morning. 36°F and going up to about 40°F. No precipitation al all today.

Came into town Wednesday for a test that I had to give Thursday, and decided to stay for the weekend. Then, Friday evening, snowmageddon! Huge snowstorm, blizzard actually, with 2 inches/h at several points. had to pick up my daughter from work at 11:30 PM, and my wife insisted that I take the 4runner. Good thing I did! The streets are a mess, buses and cars stranded all over the place, but of course the trusty forerunner drove right through it. Daughter made a video from the passenger seat, and I will try and post it. Kind of funny really, although I suppose not so much for the bus drivers and other stranded drivers. 11 hill we passed no less than nine stranded buses. The people with front wheel drive, and all season tires fared the worst.

More snow up north this morning, but it won’t come out too much at all. Not looking forward to seeing the wind row at the end of the driveway when I head up tomorrow.

Good morning all,
HD dropped off most of the sprinkler parts for my new project. I'm replacing the sprinkler valve manifold and timer control clock. Six stations on this manifold. I put it in originally 22 yrs ago. Our well water is pretty hard on everything. I have refurbished the old valves many many times. Used to keep parts and do a quick repair when needed but in the last few years parts have become scarce and now they are not available anywhere for the old valves. Internet says these valves are only good for 15 yrs so I guess it's time.
I guess I'll get started today installing the valves.
