28F and clouding up @ 12:30, but well on the way to that high of 38F. Chance of snow showers.

Birds are feasting at the feeders, deer feeder was cleaned out when the sun rose.

Made a little forward progress last night, managed to get last two panels trimmed for the workbench carcass/frame, the pieces for a shelf and door cut for the router table, and 900+ inches of board cut for drawers which is about enough for the workbench:

Had a shocking revelation while I was cutting the door and the shelf: probably not a bad idea to put the square on the guide for the circular saw once I have it clamped down ... before making the cut.

Have thus far greased out ... just by trying to be fairly careful when measuring and making the marks for the cutting guide.

Monkey see tool ... monkey use tool.

Just moved the scaffold platform up to the next level for The Woman, She's now at the top of the tall wall.

Amazon due in later with the long jigsaw blades but I'm about due for a nap.

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday ... (y)

66°F and no rain. Looks like another pretty day.
A successful trip to HD yesterday. Got everything on my list and spent less money. Been over the receipt a couple times and can’t make sense. Same items on the app results in significantly higher total. I was cashier out by a very nice lady at the Customer Service area, a first for me. Her tally produced greater discounts than the online app. Definitely not complaining.

Looks like a good day to attack the mowing.

fine drive down to Front Royal, pretty rural campground, but pretty,
tight getting in due to the big tree

no water to start, called office, they came up and said let it run. After about ten seconds water came out. I bet it was frozen.
At least I filled up with propane on way in, good thing, supposed to be 17 here tonight! So I put some water in fresh water tank, just enough to flush toilets and wash hands. I took a long shower this morning so I can wait until I get to NC tomorrow to take another one.

brother and wife coming over later to pick me up and go out to dinner.
going to take a nap before then.

internet super slow, not much of a signal up here in the hills.

The archbishop at Hellbrun castle Austria had an interesting sense of humor. When he got enough of the guests he turned on the water fountains and I think the guests would get the hint pretty quickly and leave.

So while down raking and cleaning the culvert pipe at the end of the road.
It's I think 12" by about 12'.
Looks like a lot of road breakup (small bits of asphalt) mixed in with some leaves and dirt.
Tried to did it out, about 3' in on either side, but looks jammed up.

Anyone clean out a culvert, what tools? This is about 600' from any power, but I have a small portable generator.

It is jammed in there good.

Not the way I thought my morning would go, I had it clear in the fall.

Never really had one clogged so much that it didn’t clear itself, eventually. Will be watching the responses for advice if needed in the future.

I have a culvert under the driveway that is filling up with rocks and silt but still flowing. Dug out ahead of it to create a settlement area to avoid further settling in the culvert. But I was thinking about using pipe with a welded on plate to use to scrape it out using the minix to push or pull. If you can get access with the tractor at one end you may be able to adapt something that can scrape it

A decent hoe would get you in about 5' on either end, might allow for scraping some of it out.

I think the threaded pipe push through is the best option.
Thanks all.

Good morning! Low of 16°, heading for 43°. Sunny, light breezes. Tomorrow, chances of light snow early morning then rain showers. Maybe switching back to snow tomorrow night.

Drew, enjoy the trip! Front Royale is a pretty area.

Mostly, sorry you had to ride in circles around the lake.... and still put up with wind. sorry to hear about the water problem.

Ron, hope you get the pressure tank switched out without any difficulty.

Rip, sounds like plain ole masonry stucco. Should match nicely.

Ken, nice pic of the canal. Do they still do the tourist canal boat rides?

Scootr, yeah, that grass is growing for sure! We have a couple of small green 'clumps'.... everything else is still brown.

Don, good to hear you're feeling a bit better. Hopefully the Mrs. too!

Kilroy, congrats on the new addition! I am still on the fence about getting another pup / companion for Max. If I could afford it, I'd have kennels set up for all the abandoned neglected pups.... Breaks my heart to go to the shelters and see those eyes.....

Probably another inside day. Snow is melting off nicely, but that causes mud.... I don't like playing in mud.... (you wouldn't be able to convince my mother though)....

Everyone have a great day!
I can’t find the video, but a couple years ago there was a farm that took in a truckload of shelter dogs and for many it was their first time outside and seeing dozens of happy dogs was amazing. Just waiting on six little balls. . .

Fire hose and flush it out.
We had a blocked culvert several years back and one of our neighbors who was on the volunteer fire department had the young’ns come out for some “equipment testing & maintenance” and they blew out our pipe for us. If you have a friend, or know someone who does…
