35F and clear @ 07:00, heading up to around 74F for the high today. Should be a very nice Spring day.
Woman requested I run Her up to neighbor's son's place of employment yesterday so his car could be retrieved, so activities here at home were delayed by an hour or so.
Stopped by DG on the way up and grabbed some Scotch-Brite pads to use as filters.
After we got back I went over to the barn with some starting fluid and attempted to get the Cub running. Got it started ... but it would not stay running, stumbles and dies after 5 - 10 seconds ...
Eventually wore the battery down so I went and got the charger out of the van and hooked it up. Should be fully charged by now. Will give it another shot later today after it warms up, probably around noon.
After that I headed up to the shop and started working on de-burring the two holes I cut in the metal enclosure for the VFD for ventilation.
Ran down to the corner hardware once I had that completed and picked up some nylon bushings and machine screws to attach the filters on the enclosure. Worked great, Scotch-Brite pads fit perfectly between the bushings and grills for the 120mm muffin fans:
Was starting to cool off at that point so I fired up the double barrel.
Hit all the drilled holes in the enclosure again with the de-burring bit and called it good.
About the time I had that finished up Woman called to let me know tacos were ready so I headed down to the house for dinner.
After dinner I went back up to the shop and got the enclosure blown out with compressed air and then wiped the exterior down with acetone. Then taped up all the holes from the inside.
After that I shot it with Rust-oleum Self-Etching Primer:
Followed that with a topcoat using an old can of "Armor" brand black engine enamel:
Loaded up the double barrel with some oak splits to keep things warm overnight and called it a day.
Got back down to the house just a little after midnight.
Today I'll see if I can get the printer fixed - either print heads need cleaned or it needs a new cartridge - and print out an exploded parts diagram for the saw ... so saw reassembly can start in earnest.
Beyond that and getting the Cub running, wheel bearings in dump cart still need replaced and the feeders are due to be refilled.
Hope everyone has a great Tuesday ...
