LOL, guess we have a differing idea as to fair sized![]()
It's fairly typical for this area of the country for people on wells I'd say ... at least from what I have seen.
And it's all wells where we're at - no city water here.
Mine in 113 gal, and that is connected to my 16k gal catchment tanks.
Do you have a well ?
My thinking, given your well solution would be a storage tank with maybe 2x your daily requirement.
I think that would be a pretty big tank ... if we're talking about household use + irrigation/watering.
OTOH, it would really cut down on short cycling the pump.
No clue how to plumb that relevant your well.
I don't think I'd want it plumbed into the same water system our well is on ... for a variety of reasons.
First among them: I'm not sure whether it would even be legal - at least without jumping through a bunch of hoops ... given that our well is considered a "private water system" ... and would fall under the jurisdiction of the local county health department.
Wish I could get totes that cheap.
Yeah, price seemed reasonable to me.
Lots of folks use them here especially if they only have a small system and have to haul water.
Right.
Just recently I lent a friend 4 open tanks totally 570g to collect for his nursery. He decided to plumb to move any overflow to his 3k house tank.
I would assume that he has some way to disinfect/sterilize it correct ?
Don't get me wrong: I'm really not very squeamish - just ask The Woman - and I have drank plenty of rain water collected from gutters and stored in a cistern when I was down on the farm in VA ...
I suspect you could readily fashion a gravity feed system that would suffice for non house use. A couple of filters and connect to house maybe.
Yup ... looks to be pretty easy to do: just some downspout diverters and hose or piping and a tank.
