Finished a section of the fencing. Using the old fence wire it has some slack in the top wire but so be it. Stretched it as much as possible with the clamp on stretcher and come-along. Have a roll of high tensile wire wire so may run a wire on top. The stapler worked great. Cut off some of the end of an old strap to clean it up for reuse and burned the end to melt it in.
Will work on more fencing in the mornings.

Thanks Ken, we definitely enjoy it. It IS work, but as I was thinking just the other day, work is basically whatever we decide it is. All my jobs pay the same. The in process enjoyment level may vary. In the past, mowing has proven it can be expensive. Get some wild idea for a project and now have hours to dwell on it. Sometimes I get lucky and the idea gets put away when I park the tractor.

David- I always enjoy your pictures of projects and your beautiful property. You and Sophie have created a paradise within a paradise. Thanks for sharing.

Fritz- I am happy to read that the stapler is meeting your expectations.

Your repair is coming along nicely.
I believe that Canadian fire smoke must be restricting vision...but thanks for positive thoughts.

The new medication for Diabetes 2 has shown promise for control of A1C as well as weight loss plus addiction benefits. Ozempic made by Novo Denmark is new but already helping some people. Wondering if some of you have checked into this?

Currently 88F and sunny @ 16:00, high today hit 88.3F ... so far.

Got most all of the seeds in pots moved around back and put on shelves. Still have some room available on existing shelves.

All pots/plants in pots front and back watered.

Dennis- I love the picture of that "aging" structure. There are few members here who can probably relate.

rswyan- Nice flower garden.

It was a brief encounter, but the House Wrens were successful in driving off a pair of Tree Swallows that wanted that nest box. A quick check in on the hatchlings and all appears well.

The current 87ºF is today's high temperature.

But wouldn't that cause the top vertical wires to lean?

Looking at the picture Fritz posted, looks to me like some of the vertical wires are already leaning pretty good.

Maybe a tensioner would help straighten them out ?

Today appears to be a no-go day..... 3 times I have attempted to get the tractor out.....

Every time, it started raining..... Sometimes you just have to listen to those omens.

Oh well, tomorrow's agenda is set......

88 degrees, got the lawn mowed for likely the last time before it rains again.
just chilling out
up early tomorrow morning, 7am at school to flip pancakes, school board makes pancakes for whole school.

I ordered some brighter halogen headlight bulbs for rv, and while I usually wait until it's light out to leave, a few times I haven't.
am spoiled by Volvo's LED lights that bend around corners. Good lights really make nighttime driving easier.
I was going to get fog lights instead, but I want more vision on dark country roads leaving campgrounds. If it's foggy, very unlikely I'm driving anywhere.
These Sylvania H13 bulbs are supposed to be a good bit brighter, but they don't quantify.

Have zero concern over power draw of new bulbs, they might be 65 watts instead of 55.
Also an issue of how good the lens is. Reflective area on these Ford trucks is pretty large, large assemblies.
Halogen used to be the cat's meow.
I'm not trying to conserve energy consumption here, it's negligible on something that gets 10 mpg no matter what.
Halogen gets hot though. Popping a 100 watt halogen upgrade in an oem socket means a lot more heat.
Don't want to melt the Ford oem lens not far away. LED you worry about non of this.
I just know they did not spend one dollar more than they had to when building this commercial van chassis, including
the light bulbs. Should be an easy replacement.

unless it's a bright sunny day, I usually run with the rv lights on until it gets bright out enough to turn them off.
pretty sure it's statistically proven that running with headlights on reduces accidents over running without. So I figure if I leave them
on a little too long, no harm.

that's all the trouble I can get into tonight

When I went out today I suddenly remembered that I had an order in Powassan that I forgot to get yesterday. I was in Powassan yesterday, too. Got some permethryn "for my horses". i don't have any horses, but it is sold for horses, so that is what I told the guy. I will treat my shirts when I get to the yard.
I had ordered an oh crap handle for the z-turn and it came in two weeks ago. It is now on the mower. That should make it easier to get on and off the mower. You young'uns can probably jump right up on it and jump off just as nimble, but not me.
Grass all cut, front, back, north field and both sides of the driveway. I will go out later tonight and grease it, all 4 fittings. It is already cleaned out where the blades run. It will cut all the above grass three times before I need to fuel it. She holds 5 gallons of fuel, although the owners manual says I can use up to 10% ethanol fuel, I use the top grade of shell fuel which has zero ethanol.
My ride on mowers always used a gallon of fuel and I had to stop and refuel before I could do the north field. The fuel fill hole (3") is big enough that I can pour the fuel into it without the mickey mouse spout. So far I think it is the best $9,000.oo I ever spent.
