RonJH- Freaking Awesome sunrise picture. Thanks for sharing.

Kilroy- Thanks or the laugh.

Don- I am surprised that any garden plants are growing with the heat down your way.

Ken- Thanks for haring your pictures. Nice capture of that wasp.

rswyan- Nothing is better than a good cup of coffee freshly brewed to start the day. One of the first sounds one hears around here early morning is our +45 year old coffee grinder grinding .

It was a hazy, foggy, smoky 55ºF for this morning's low temperature. The fog burned off quickly, but the smoke remained and it has been a mix of clouds, smoke, and varying degrees of filtered sunshine so far today. Today's high temperature may be the 76ºF recorded earlier. Currently Tº = 73ºF with a nasty 67ºF dew point. I used the inhaler prior to this morning 🐕 tour of the lower perimeter. I took another "toke" on the inhaler this afternoon prior to mowing ~3 acres/2.5 hours worth of open area for the solar panels and walking paths. I wore a face mask while mowing and it looks/feels like I'll be using some eye wash soon.

The yearling male AKA "Junior" paid us a visit this morning. He did not like that camera pointed at him.

well I made it to Michigan.
long drive, lot of traffic, but just took it easy and got here.
Route 80 was a very nice drive, way nicer than Pa turnpike.

Eyes are red and itchy, neck and hands sore from driving.
Ron has a beautiful home in the "outskirts" of the town here, where he lives on a tree lined wooded road with very nice neighbors.

He took me for a drive to local park , so we could see the cranes, they were everywhere, and the largest turtle I have ever seen.
We stopped at DQ for an ice cream cone, both realized we should have ordered a small. Medium was really big, surprisingly....

came back and took a brief nap, may get one more shortly, then over to Ron's home for a rib dinner. Ron is very well equipped in the tool category and I marveled at all the attachments he has for his Kubota.
He is ready for anything.

Drew- One of my definitions for "forever" is driving the breadth of PA on I80. I am glad you had a manageable leg on your journey. Nice pictures. One of my Buds would love to have that old Bridgeport. Thank you Ron for being such a good host.

May I suggest the HD 5 gal nylon paint filter before the HVAC filter to get the larger stuff?
I use in combination with panty hose on my catchment system before water goes into tank.
Not the configuration you need, but maybe spark an idea

On this the water flows from inside out in a 4 inch PVC from roof gutters to tank fill pipe. Maybe you can rig such that pump draws from inside a 5 gal bucket that has passed thru the filter into bucket.
Same basic idea - the HVAC filters are the loose mesh 20x18x1 30 day filters that I get in Ace a hardware for about a buck apiece, and I just keep shoving the old ones into a trashbag until the bag is full, so I have about a dozen filters to strip apart take a piece of 1” PVC and drill a bunch of holes in it, cut it I. Half, stick one half on one side through the lid and the other on the other side, stuff the space between with old filter mesh, seal the top pipe holes, connect the hoses, turn on the pump. The mesh bag idea would make it easier to handle the filter media and secure it around one of the pipes (probably outlet side…).

It fell into a post hole?

Maybe….. I was mowing where I had pulled some posts.

I tried to add a picture and the app crashed.

After lunch I found my ambition, wish it would show up earlier when it’s cooler.
I put up the porch ceiling panel, since I now know where the leak was and it didn’t leak last rain. And because it was in my way in the garage.
Got ZT oil changed. Really easy, but I must have made 5-6 trips from garage to barn to get things. Took awhile to find the new filter. Need to order more.
Mowed a lap and oil checked ok, so finished mowing the rest of yard.
Clipped some tomatoes to trellis, then it started light rain, which lasted less than a minute.
Picked up Chinese for supper.

Dad got rotary mower fixed, he broke a 1/2” bolt in pto shaft. Hum. Should be a smaller shear bolt. Anyways he finished mowing the hay fields, now he just has pastures to finish.

Taking this was when my app crashed earlier.
