The M12 system is usually lighter and easier to handle. I have several tools using them as well as the M18 system The M18 impact that I have is very heavy but it is powerful. I have several lighter impacts and drills that are Bosch and Milwaukee. Used the Makita chain saw yesterday on the fallen tree. Worked really well. Could use a cordless string trimmer. Thinking a Makita would be good since I have the batteries. Any suggestions?

/ Good morning!!!! #173,105
7 at night and still 87 out
need to go out and turn off exhaust fan in rv but might just let it run.
another hot sunny day tomorrow. After a 4.5 inch rain, this sun is really cranking up the garden.
Every day I have to inspect carefully anyway for strawberries. Not many of them, a disappointing 2nd try at growing them.
First try in NC was a bust. Neem oil managed to get rid of most of chomping bugs.
need to spray again after that heavy rain.

went out this afternoon to small restaurant/ice cream place in Stockton and treated my
first wife and her husband of 30 years to an ice cream cone. They brought their new labrodoodle or some small doodle
and little dog was very nice. I always wonder about feeding sweets to animals. I guess cats do fine with ice cream, but somehow thought
sweet stuff wasn't good for critter digestive systems.

what foods are most dogs supposed to NOT eat?
other than chicken bones...

rv repair shop did not call back. Not promising.
there is another place in Souderton I'm going to try.
The first guy would come to my house for 160 bucks. ++++
but to do Swintek slide repair you need the parts and need to have some experience with them.
They break a lot and are constantly being repaired.
There is an another company called Zoom that makes a replacement system that is supposed to be way more reliable.

problem is almost always the motor retaining screw coming loose. What a terrible design to have a set screw on an rv that vibrates constantly.
at least I know the motors still work, so the wires must not have ripped off like they do sometimes when the motor totally falls off its mount.
Did I say this was a terrible design?.......

cleaned out fridge in rv and turned it off, but keep rv plugged in to keep house batteries charged.
I run lights and fans pretty regularly and they are all 12VDC.
will keep running the exhaust fan in bathroom, big cover on that fan, which draws air from an small open window on far side
of sofa.
on hot rainy days, I will run the a/c for a little while mostly to dry out the air.
I can set it up pretty high like 82 or 84, which I think I'll do. Does not have a dehumidify cycle.

I have the M18 string trimmer, I use it all the time.
With 3 8AH batteries I can do 2x600 feet of driveway with tall grass and using a .095 line
The self feeding head is great, cut 20' of line, feed it through and turn the head to load.
I do a few thousand feet of tall grass and weeds every few weeks, so far it's only overheated once, yesterday, but it was 93 and humid and I was running ti straight for over an hour.

I have the M12 impact and drill/driver and use them all the time. THe stubby M12 impact is pretty tough and I have not thought about getting the bigger M28 one. It is light and takes a while sometimes to break the wheel lugs, but it does.

I now have the M28 inflator, which I think I have used 20 times already around the yard and I have had it a week or so. It is kinda weird on the gauge, but it is fast enough to blow up a flat lawntractor tire without having to jack it up and strap it. Works well on the larger truck and tractor tires and does not weigh much.
I also have one of the M18 lights for working in the garage while redoing the electrical. Lights up the 2bay plus garage really well.

The M18 head works well, but not quite as happy with the pole saw, a little too slow and does not oil well enough. Usable, and I have trimmed hundreds of tall thick bushes, but will probably buy a gas one in the future.

I have not had a single battery failure on the M12 which i have had for about 8 years, or the M18s which I have only had for about 2 years. I buy the batteries usually when they have a tool with free battery or some other kind of sale.

Good (Thursday) morning. The 'warm' overnight Low's continue with a 12.6C. Presently it's 15.7C, mostly cloudy with a steady wind. There was 0.3mm in the gauge @ 0900.

A successful trip into town yesterday, especially at the hardware shop. After I returned from grocery shopping I got stuck-into repairing/extending the two gate chains... one of which had been an "I'll get to that" task for over ten years. :D

I'll get to chain-harrowing Paddock #1 (& #6) this arvo, then I have an evening supper/meeting to attend.

In the meantime I've received notification that a couple of cases of wine has 'mysteriously' appeared for collection at the PO.

That's about it, take care all.

I want to keep it mowed.
It has been hayed before, but yesterday learned the guys who previously hayed it and neighbors fields won’t be doing it, they found bigger fields. Neighbors were gripping they need to find someone to mow their fields now.
Entirely understandable.

Coffee is brewing. 58° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 76° with partly cloudy skies. .5" rain over night. Got rafters in chicken coop finished. Need to start removing old shingles need. But need some good weather for a couple of days to get that done. Grocery shopping this morning. Then see what rest of the day brings.
There was a Fawn with Doe. But weeds were to tall to get a picture.

Good Morning All.

Interesting day. Sophie had good ophthalmologist appointment. Change in drop regimen, back in 6 weeks.

This bed shopping is nuts. Visited a couple local stores. 1 guy very helpful. Not only were prices crazy, prices for adjustable bases even more so, more than cost of mattress. I told Sophie I’d have to rank mattress shopping right up there with car shopping.

That said, I continued my internet research, now I had better feedback from Sophie. Biggest challenge for us is shipping. Some great choices at Costco, but won’t ship to Hawaii. Appears this is because item actually comes from the manufacturer. Really have to delve into the fine print, but by far the majority just don’t ship here, many exude their ignorance when questioned. One manufacturer was very up front about their willingness - almost $2800 just shipping. Have to keep in mind shipping cost is based on volume/weight, not quality of the product.

But I did get lucky. Nectarsleep.com. Actually saw and experienced their low end offering at one of the local stores. On a whim I accessed their chat feature and linked up with one of the most helpful CS guys ever. Bet I spent half an hour with him. Just as helpful and knowledgeable as the in person guy earlier. Free shipping conus, but to Hawaii via FedEx at $250 per box. Not really unreasonable especially compared to $2800. I would be 4 boxes. Ended up with a locked in shopping cart with some options good for 48 hours. Did significantly more research, learned that I could get a 40% military discount. Emailed the CS guy and my cart was updated with the better discount. More discussion with my supervisor.
Bottomline I was able to get higher quality mattresses ( Split King) and better adjustable bases than quoted at local store for almost $2k less than local store even after shipping and taxes. Pulled trigger. Phew
