good Sunday morning all
should be a nice day today, sunny and not too hot
lots going on after lunch, one friend coming to help me with getting the new table into rv and
fixing a wood trim area elsewhere. Then another friend comes with truck, trailer and Kubota LX to push some
leaf and brush piles on back edge of my lawn further into the woods. Then we head over to another friend's and move
a pile of dirt for her. If I can't have a tractor of my own, sure good to have a friend with one who loves to use it.

sad story in Wunderground.
July has been so hot that one child has died every other day due to being left in hot cars.

now when I go through parking lots, I kind of look around to see if any kids in cars...
oh but I was only going to be a minute....

Good morning, the low is 53 and going to a high of 75°F. Wind NNE 7 mph. Sunny!

The plan is to get after the hut today. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen.

Ron, a big track hoe would have a bit of trouble with that stump.
I dosed my two big stumps with Epsom salts (only because since 9/11 I cannot get salt peter). SP is the best for rotting down stumps. The other alternative that works better is dynamite, but not that close to the house and septic system.

When I get bored with you tube I go used car shopping. Found a used 1937 Packard Phaeton fully restored, only $337,000.oo U.S. (A little over 500 grand by the time you add exchange and sales tax [not sure what other duties would be added at customs]). It is nice to drool every so often.

Drew, idiots that leave their kids in the car on hot days should be charged with child endangerment and sentenced to 10 years in prison AND sterilized.

Have a safe day all

if you want to kill time on a too hot day, a trip to Hemmings online is great fun.
not too many 2000 dollar trucks there.

two big issues for me. Is it new enough for an airbag, and what happens if that early airbag goes off?
Will it take my head off with it? Could I replace the airbag with something modern internally?
Second is before or after emissions. Before means you can drop a crate motor in and have lots of fun.
After means you write off most of the 70's and 80's due to smog motors.
But even a smogged up 455 has lots of torque but didn't those cars get 10mpg?

I thought the early Toronados were pretty neat. way too expensive for my family growing up.
We were a 210 and Biscayne Chevy family, always three on the tree and straight six.
But then cars got heavier and newer and Dad had to get my Mother a decent car since she just
hung her law shingle locally. So he got her a silver Olds 88 convertible, the cheapest one with, again, a three on
the tree. Probably the last one ever made. Automatics finally came in on next car.

Nicest car he ever got for her was a dark green Olds 98 convertible, with the 455/370 motor in it.
It was really large and not so easy to park for a young guy who got to borrow it for special dates.
And then in the pouring rain I spun out in a river of water coming off a steep hill in Lambertville,, taking
my date home. I've told this story but this was when she thought she would help by grabbing wheel and pulling on it.
Meanwhile I should have been steering the other way, so around like a tea cup that massive car went.
as I thought this was the end of my life. A gentle stop into a very very large stone wall took out the headlight and some chrome.
oh dear I am so you know what

I rode the school bus a long time after that.

RNG, nice Commando.
Agreed. I don't recall ever seeing a Norton Commando with a fairing but it looks very nice!

Headed back to 100F today. Lots of 100F days this year which is unusual since it is only July. At least it's a dry heat. I sympathize with those who have high heat and high humidity. Been in that while traveling and the humidity makes it difficult.

Everyone have a great day!!!
