Drew, kinda gripes me that the Medicare increase isn’t constrained to the total % increase, 2.5% this year.

I suspect you manage your finances quite well, probably better than most. Feels a bit strange having a truck payment again. I know a number of advisors tout payments like mortgages, but have to admit when everything was paid off it was comforting. Already planning to pay off Tundra in 18 months vs 36.

Bet you’d make a great teacher, especially parttime.

My college ed was rather non traditional, parttime while on active duty. Used to think I’d like teaching a course or two at that level
I did spend 4 years as an instructor in the Army.

No power no internet no phone solid ice no get out and go. Started Monday about 3:00AM back on today at 9:00PM. Gas logs kept us warm. Generator ran out of gas none to be gotten. See if we can get out tomorrow but colder yet Winter has arrived. Nice socks m7040

Poured first cup of coffee. 19° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 23° with cloudy skies. No spaghetti again yesterday. Neighbor fell from his wheel. Went over and helped wife get him back in chair and then bed. Did not seem to cause any injuries. He is on heavy pain medications. They are organizing some home care for him. Did get daily exercises in. Looking at weather for next 10 days. Daytime temperatures are going to stay in the 20's. Maybe some snow friday. Looks like no seat time for me in the near future.

25° going to 30°, and colder tonight. Wind not as strong right now, but supposed to increase again. Wind chill last night around 10°. Thursday to be the worse.
Buppies, glad power is back. That has been my concern. If not for pellet stove and a couple electric space heaters, my house has been rather cold.
Not sure why it’s different this year, maybe just colder longer.
my brother checked on dad yesterday, pushed some snow around the house, shoveled porch and walks.

Good morning, the low is -8 and going to a high of 7°F. Wind NW 6 mph. 30% chance of flurries.

It is quite nice out. I couldn't find my keys this morning to turn on the block heater for the Dodge, so I went out and found them...On the consul. Block heater on now.

At 9:30 this morning I am going to the dump and take Junior to the vampire. His quack wants blood tests before she sees him. So we do the Thursday run on Wednesday, that is fine by me.

There is nothing else going on until the weather warms up a bit. Then it will snow.

I taught a few college classes back in the mid 90s. When I added up all my time, I was making minimum wage. I did enjoy it though.
I lost a sister to cancer 13 yrs ago. It’s never easy. At the time, She was younger than I am now.
Another sisters husband has Parkinson’s now.

13 going to 34. Little melting of the snow yesterday.

BEF, we haven't got mail delivery this week, either, but I think my mailbox is still standing. Snow plows did leave a wall of icebergs in front of my driveway, but nice farmer neighbor moved them with his FEL as he was delivering hay to his cows. I just had to use the shovel to move a couple from where I mount our US flag each morning.

Buppies, hope your power is back on. We never lost it here, but many in the state did.

good morning, 19 going to 26 with some more snow and drifting overnight

Slipped and fell yesterday walking Cody. Ice under 2 inch of light snow fooled me.
Old Judo instinct of "tuck and roll" was still there. Tall leather boots also saved my ankle from more serious injury

Need to do some more snow clean up this morning and limit walking to safe areas. Brought up the ice cleats and left them on the patio to use when needed

The heater on the tractor is not heating at 100 percent so need to look into that. Maybe valve not fully open. Maybe cardboard in front of radiator will help
