Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #202,381
what a morning
started off fun, got my new creeper at Harbor Freight
and another one of their big red plastic buckets. Which of course made a handy
container for few odds and ends that just jumped right in there.
But on the way back, lights start flashing on dash and I peer at the dash
and it says 258 degrees. Oh boy, she's about to fizz.
And fizz she did.
lot of my brand new antifreeze all over the place.
thankfully I was off the road and engine off in 15 seconds.

it took two hours alongside route 263 this morning before tow truck finally came.
thankfully my brother came after an hour and I could get warm.

I sure would like to see the condition of the radiator drain plug. Have to wonder if they
didn't get it tight, and it leaked out. So cold out you don't see it for a while.
They brought it to me last night and left it in my driveway. Makes me wonder if that light was on then...
might be something simple like a thermostat or radiator cap. But annoying to get one half hour of use of this car before
it left me stranded on a cold day.

spent almost half an hour dickering with two different towing companies, everyone says they have jobs ahead of me, two hours, yada yada.
ok, that's when I called my brother, who called his friend Rob of Rob's Towing and that truck was here in 45 minutes. Only charged me 125, which
will get reimbursed at some point. I had gotten pretty cold sitting there, watching temp gauge as it got to 235 and I'd turn it off.
but that didn't produce much heat and it's in high 20's out. So by time my brother got there, my legs were pretty cold
excellent reason why us Northerners need blankets in cars.
thank goodness I have other car at home.
too much drama with this car, hope not bad omen.

Drew, I believe I'd be taking that back and finding something else. Those temps wouldn't set well with my confidence to be towing a camper as you plan to do.

In my eyes it's toast.

I would have to wonder if that engine got air locked when they refilled it. Some of these newer vehicles can be a complete pain to get all the air out of the system.
Many have a somewhat elaborate procedure to bleed the air out.

Almost certainly the case. The lack of heat confirms that.

Drew -
Excuse me, but you took your Expedition to Harbor Freight? I'm not surprised it got hot. Probably thought it was slumming. :)

24°F and clear skies this morning, got up to 47° today. Mr. Blue Sky did it right today and melted most of our remaining snow and ice. By Wednesday, we'll be back in the 50s. I'm OK with that.

Did some adjusting today on one of the storm doors going from the sunroom out to the driveway. Not sticking anymore. While getting tools from the garage, I noticed a mess of grass seed on the floor between the tool box and work bench. Mouse. Cleaned that up and set a couple of traps. Also took a look at the compressor while I was out there (and while it was no longer 20° below freezing). I was thinking the motor had died. Started checking power from different outlets, and had no power to any of the outlets on the south wall. Hmmm. Checked the breaker box, and what do you know ... reset it and the compressor works again. I like the easy stuff.

Wife made some delicious chili in the crockpot for dinner. Yummy.

Slipped in some mud on the way out to close the chicken coop this evening. Great, I guess we're back to that again.

No sightings of Foxy Loxy for the past few days.

Thinking of you and your wife, Buppies. Hope you can find a solution.

Good evening, gents.

One way to set riv nuts without the fancy tool is a longer bolt of the same thread and a nut with a washer. Run the nut all the way up the bolt, add the washer, spin the riv nut onto the bolt for the full depth of the threads, turn the nut back down to the riv nut. Insert the assembly, hold the bolt head and turn the nut down using it to pull the bolt with the riv nut.
Yup, basically what I did
Took all my strength, even with a cheater pipe. Thought I had it, then it pulled right thru the plastic wall. Need the slotted/collapsable type

Wet morning, so no mow
But opportunity to get my inbed storage
Toolbox to right is removable.

I will change out the sheet metal screws to button head bolts to look more factory.

Good morning, (up to early even for me)
8° now highs in the upper 30’s and mostly sunny today.
Winds WSW 5-15 mph gusts up around 30 mph.

Stayed quiet yesterday, only real accomplishment was cleaning out some some old files on my laptop and making a new backup in preparation for a new computer eventually.

No idea what today will bring?

Enjoy your day everyone
Stay safe and healthy
Prayers for all

Good morning, the low is 23 and going down to 19 for the high. Wind WSW 11 mph. Flurries.

I decided yesterday that I wasn't going to waste the fuel plowing, I WILL be plowing today. I cannot see the tracks in the driveway that I made on Thursday. I'll start about noon or so. There is only 6" to plow.

Other than plowing, I wont be doing anything else today.

Have a safe day all
