Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #205,461
Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low of 2.8C and it's presently 17.3C, clear & calm.

A very good trip into Launie yesterday. I got there with enough time to accomplish a couple of things prior to arriving for the servicing appointment right on time. They then drove me downtown to purchase 3-4 things plus I had lunch. Back to the dealership for an estimated completion time of 1330... nope, it was 1430 and I spotted my ute in their 'yard' (after its annual, complimentary, wash) to remind them.

I had another, quick appointment, organised in Launie and then it was back to St Helens for the Church Council meeting, which I was 15 minutes late for. They knew that I could be delayed. I actually got home by 1755!

Today I'll work on assembling yet more signs. It's never bloody ending. <sigh>

That's about it, take care all.

sent thankfully small checks off to IRS and PA, please use my money wisely. ;)
You can be quite the comedian Drew. :
My mechanical contractor buddy will come along for the ride, we’ll have lunch at Mission BBQ that is close to the destination.
Hey wait a minute....I thought you were the mechanical contractor???

Terrible weekend. an uninsured vehicle plowed into the back of my truck on the freeway and my BIL died after a routine CT scan, (two totally separate incidents).
Oh my Don, condolences for you and Karen and the extended family. Is this the BIL that the family lives in Richardson?

Sorry about the truck getting rear ended. Hopefully dealing with your own uninsured/underinsured insurance will be less painful than what I went thru with GEICO. My problem mainly was they didn't want to pay for what used cars were selling for during Covid.

A note about Xray scans. A biomedical engineering student told me the 2 highest doses of XRay radiation. 1) CT scans 2)Barium swallow (scan while you drink barium). I have had qty 2 of #1, and 1 of #2.

About 8 years ago, I was having heart palpitations or whatever and I scheduled my 2nd Heart CT scan. I went to my regular doctor prior to the appointment and told him I had the appointment. He tried everything to talk me out of it. He said the only score he would accept from it "Is if you get a zero". He wanted to go down a different path of treatment. I went and had the scan, and I got a score of zero. Thank the Lord my palpitations went away when I gave up caffeine.

Work went pretty easy today. Son has a tennis match tomorrow in the same town I work in. I plan to drive over and watch him play.

Prayers for our team, our nation, Ukraine and ******.

Oh, my SUV headlight low beam is still acting up. Put in new bulb, and now new relays for Hi/Lo and parking lights. Just ordered a new turn signal stalk which has the dimmer switch in it. Sometimes you can play with the turnstalk by clicking the high beams and the low beam will start working.

A $32 cheap multiswitch stalk from Amazon. Will say a prayer and hope it fixes it.

Oh on another story, a friend who graduated with me got GBS. She went to ER and was sent home with flu meds. Her daughter is an RN and told her to go back to ER and get tested for other stuff. She got tested and a specialty doctor was at another hospital and took her on. She had a therapy where they replace her plasma, and filter her blood somehow that kicks out the bad antibodies. She was originally diagnosed with Flu A. But something wasn't right and she went back in. In 4 days of back and forth, she couldn't walk as she entered the hospital. Tests, spinal tap, CT, 3 mri's in 4 hours and she was diagnosed with GBS. The plasma treatment was done daily for 10 days, and with help she was able to walk out of the hospital soon thereafter. The docs believe it was because of fast diagnosis and early intervention with the plasmapherisis. She believes the Lord had a hand in it, getting the diagnosis, having a world class neurology doc, and the special plasma treatment.

Need to pour cup of hot coffee. 20° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 38° with cloudy skies. Little bit of everything yesterday. Sun, Clouds, Rain and Snow. Then a touch of sun to finish day off. .04" of rain. Mower is ready for another grass cutting season. No rush getting it on tractor. Snow is forecast for Thursday. No plans for today yet.

Good Morning All.

Good morning,
34° now cloudy with rain and snow showers this morning. Partly cloudy and windy this afternoon, highs around 40°. Winds NE at 10-15 mph, becoming W and increasing to 20-30 mph, gusts over 40 mph.

Got some more tools put away, cleaned up the snow blower and put it in its resting spot (that should guaranty a couple of feet of snow 🙃). The rest of the afternoon feet up and a short nap. Mrs made a roast chicken for supper.

Nothing planned for today just see what comes along.

Mostly - prayers for your brother and family.

what's with all this snow? Will be curious to see how Bill's total snowfall this year compares to past.
I intend to take my little electric push mower out today to hit the tall spots, particularly near the mailbox.
sure is nice knowing no issues of starting and for this small property, it's not undersized as a trim mower.

well, since I see it's going down to 28 here tonight, brrr, need to put covers on a few plants.
hopefully we will then get a warmup.

Phil,I hope you are feeling better today.
Mostly, very sorry about brother's bad health. Doesn't sound like a good combo he has, hope some good remaining days
for all of you together. Gives me chills thinking about that with my own two brothers, and we are all in our mid to late 70's now.

windy day today, was hoping to go down and wash the rv but not sure weather will cooperate.
I have had two inquiries on the rv, one serious.
big problem that I have a loan on it, and paying that off to make the sale easier is just too much for me. Only becomes a problem
on a private deal; hoping local dealer will help with paperwork. I told dealer whoever helps with paperwork gets first shot at selling me a travel
trailer and that seemed to work.

29F NHBX and I sharing same weather today.

Outside chores done E muffin time.
Plans for today...8 hours at part store afterward setup game cam, once Sunday and 3 times yesterday heard branch breaking in the woods.

Enjoy your day all.

   / Good morning!!!! #205,473
42 going to 53. But sunny finally after about an inch and a half of rain.

Prayers for your brother, Mostly.

Took my wife to town yesterday...to pick up a new coffee grinder and grab some Torchy's queso and tacos. Had a good time strolling around the mall, window shopping for the most part...but it's an outdoor style mall and the cold rain made it seem like November. We shared a bubble tea...never tried one before...strange but good.

good morning, 30 going to 42, colder for sure, felt like 16 around 6:00 AM
But the rain yesterday has made the ground very soggy

Ordered the MIG and Plasma cutter etc. Will leave them unpacked until I have the new welding shop set up. Need to get dryer for the airline. PG what are you using?

Will wait for the ground to dry up some before the stick pickup tour

The freeze is now on the 3 credit companies. Also checked that no-one had inquired about credit. Think it is only good for a year so need to remember to renew

There has been a noticeable increase in spam calls. Not sure if it is related

   / Good morning!!!! #205,475
40 outside right now, may get to 49. Nice breeze/wind looks to be drying stuff out nicely.

Real jobs will consume the day. Family all enroute to our place for staging for the final send off of the FIL this weekend. Trying to get the place in some semblance of order for that.

Hope all have a good day. Be safe.

   / Good morning!!!! #205,476
wind is really blowing here too, 36 out and wind chill says stay inside

thirteen years ago this date I was getting ready to take a trip in our first motorhome.
first time I loaded that VW TDI on nice Demco hitch I tore the air dam off it.
this was the Winnebago that broke down in Jackson MS on the first big rv trip.
sure wish I knew then what I know now.
but that's not how it works...

Blue Cross just advised me new premium 328 a month, up from 276 and it wasn't long ago it was 178.
wow
plus prescription plan that's $5k a year.
getting more expensive to stick around...
of course the real actuarial cost is more like 15k a year, so
you folks who subsidized the rest, thank you

Good morning, the low is 7 and going to a high of 27°F. Wind N 18 gusting to 30 mph. 40% chance of flurries. Snowing right now and we got 8"+ overnight. Block heater is already turned on.

I'm cancelling the quack appointment. Wouldn't be able to get out the driveway anyway.

I don't start plowing until noon. The guy across the road works graveyard shift, he usually gets himself mobile about 1 P.M. Leaves for work about 2, so I am assuming he works from 4 til midnight and gets home about 2 A.M.

I think this winter has been warmer than the previous 3 or 4. We've had more snow, but not as much deep cold. I have seen us in the past with snowbanks that didn't disappear until late May/early June. It may sound like a contradiction, but in the past we've had more 10 to 16" dumps of snow and not as many 4-8" dumps. It used to be that we'd get a 16" dump and then the temperature would plummet to -40°F. and stay there until the next snowfall. (It would gradually warm up to the mid 20s and then snow again. Then right back down into the deep freeze.) I often wonder how the native Indians managed.

The neighbour with the collapsed Shelter Logic portable shelter has a bunch of rabbits living it it. Good, they will become lunch for one of my cats. One doesn't go out at all, she is old (15 years), the 14 year old tom won't go off the deck, he got a severe scare a few years ago and now doesn't leave the deck. It is only the younger tom (5 years) that hunts.

Time to get moving, more or less.

Have a safe day all

A little insight into how our 'free' health care works. While I was working I paid into the OHIP system (Ontario Health Insurance Plan) through payroll deductions. The employer paid x amount of dollars and I paid x amount. Now that I am retired I shell out on my income tax and additional $600.oo/year for OHIP. The only reason we say it is 'free' is because when we get out of hospital we don't get presented with a huge hospital bill.
So for all those people in Ontario, Canada that are still working, thank you for paying my OHIP.

Good Morning
35° with a high of 40 on tap under a clear sky. No rain for the next couple of days. A welcome change.

Yesterday started in the shop, did some drawings and 3D printing, cleaned and organized, really looking forward to the shed coming tomorrow, that will be the home for all the tubs of alpaca wares that got piled into the shop in the process of building the old folks home.
Eye doctor visit went well, got a new prescription and ordered new glasses. Not an inexpensive proposition with no insurance other than Medicare, it was just over $800 to get out of there. Took son to get his car, and spent some more time in the shop before dinner and odd fellows meeting.

Today will start with breakfast with the professor, my wife will be joining us today, then some paperwork and shop time, FAA physical after lunch, then likely back to the shop.
