good morning all
warm morning due to warm day yesterday, but now weather trending cooler and wetter.
Wet is good, we need the rain.
will be a busy day today. First I hose off the pollen on the motorhome and get it ready. Then I drive it fifteen minutes to Souderton where the two
largest rv dealers are. I have appointments with both, to look at a travel trailer and get a trade in value for motorhome. Reasonably sure the numbers will not work. Not going to take a beating on the sale no matter how much they want to sell me a new rv. Depreciation is a big part of cost of ownership, sometimes the largest part. Gets down to simple matter of dealer wants to make ten grand on me, buy and sell, and I can afford five grand.
This is a discretionary purchase, time to walk if numbers don't work. And they may not due to market conditions. Have no idea what economic turmoil has done to rv sales. But when I see 2023 models still on lots, that tells me something.
if the dealer simply goes to NADA books, won't work. Those numbers are very low for bank financing. Buying a used rv is all about condition, some have no extra equipment, some like mine have almost one of everything. (including leaks...
)
I paid a premium for a spotless rv when I bought it. I'm hoping someone will pay more than average, but for a dealer, also depends upon what else he has on his lot. If Fretz RV has six Jayco class C's on their lot for less money, they aren't motivated to add one more. Might have to redo my summer plans to traveling again. If I'm paying for it, might as well use it. But it's all clean and staged now, will just see what today brings.
I think a trip home with a glum expression on my face...
and then when I get home I have to uber all the way back to get my truck, 47 bucks.(Ken, want to take me in that beautiful Audi of yours??)
