64F with a light mist @ 10:30, calling for a high of 67F. Drizzle this morning followed by thunderstorms this afternoon. Sun trying to come out now.
Thunderstorm rolled in early this morning around 04:00, power went off and UPS' started screaming. Got up, shutdown computer, then turned off UPS. Then went downstairs and turned off the 4 or 5 UPS's down there in the studio.
Got 2 legs welded on the second saw horse first thing yesterday.
After that located lids for the 2 septic tanks and cleared those off.
Then got grass mowed over leach field.
Was about to start mowing on the east side when the septic pumper finally showed up, was running about 2 hours behind.
Nice young man, lives over in Marshallville. Talked tractors, farming, and gardening.
Got both tanks all pumped out.
Rain drops were starting to fall as he was leaving.
Got the stack of posts re-tarped after he left.
Moved the 2 untreated posts into the barn so they wouldn't get wet.
Collected up roll of chain link fencing that was lying on the lawn back by the garden and moved it over by the barn.
Also moved last cattle panel up to the pavement in front of the house. It needs a little further work to straighten it out.
Collected up a bucket of potting mix and some pots to re-pot tomato seedlings ... which never happened.
Refilled hopper, both tube feeders, and both suet feeders. Also scattered some seeds for the ground feeders.
Headed over to friends after that and topped off his ORD tank with 50+ gallons.
Still around 100 gallons left in the IBC tote in the van. Need to see if the loader will pick that up and, if so, get it unloaded and moved into the barn.
Woman made spaghetti, had a huge plate and after that I was done for the day. Got a little carried away with the crushed red pepper flakes.
Additional items on agenda for today:
If sun does materialize, work on getting the rest of the brassicas planted.
Maybe get the last 2 legs tacked up on the second saw horse.
Trip down to gas supplier and get a fresh bottle of shielding gas.
Finish up welding on second saw horse.
Re-pot tomato seedlings.
Yes ... it certainly looks like the deer have taken up residence and are fully owning that west planting bed.
