Sitting in the waiting room at the Toyota dealership getting my annual free state inspection. Already walked around and drooled on the new models...new, same model Tundra is $22K more than mine 9 years ago. I'm in no hurry to change.

Stopped at our favorite Chinese for lunch.
Almost criminal the price of new vehicles. ☹️

Cards was cut short last night by the threat of Hail. And it did hail a little, no damage to the garaged pickup. But more important it rained an inch which helped the grass and refilled the pool.

Today was a trip to the "Farm" with the Germans. Apple cannons and pig races were the top entertainers. took a walk to the San Gabriel river which runs on the back side of the Farm.

The Tractor driver was a girl from the petting zoo who give rides once an hour. My tractor rides are more informative as I give information about the farm before each ride and tell the passengers what we are going to pass by and what to look for. The sunflowers are about 50% bloomed and the strawberries are finished. Starting the summer hunker down mode after this weekend's Wine through the sunflowers and unicorns.

Good (Wednesday) morning. Overnight Low of 6.4C and it's presently 12.2C, clear with a bit of a breeze at times. There was 2.2mm in the gauge @ 0900, from yesterday's mid-day showers.

First up today is the monthly Veteran's coffee gathering @ 1000, followed by my weekly "Senior Shopping" grocery 5% discount. This arvo will be spent preparing for a paddock transfer from #1 to #2, which will occur later on.

That's about it, take care all.

58F and cloudy @ 21:00, heading down to around 51F for the overnight low.

Got hay wagon cleared off and brought it over to house and started loading the 4 x 4 posts on it.

Woman came out about halfway and saw the half loaded wagon and said "Oh ... that will be great for your back ..."

I used the forks to put most of them on ... ;)

IMG_3684 copy.jpg

Took it over and parked it in the barn once I got it all loaded up.

Then moved the boards and saw horses for the raised beds over there as well.

Next item to go over was the new saw horses.

And after that the four 6" round posts.

Once that was done I set the deck height on the Cub to 4.5" and started mowing down the grass on the bottom end of the front lawn where it had been so wet. Still wet but at least no standing water.

Took a little break after that and came inside for a little snack.

Then started loading the dump cart with tomato plants and got around 16 of those moved around back onto the high shelves where the deer can't get at them.

After that I dropped the deck on the Cub down to 3.5" and went over the parts that I had mowed earlier. That got everything out front down to roughly the same height.

Woman's peach trees really needed sprayed with fungicide so loaded up the sprayer and hit both trees.

Need to find the peach pits I saved from last year and get those potted up.

Once that was finished I gathered all the stuff for post coating project and hauled that over to the barn.

Then parked to the Cub up by the house and went into the garage and looked for a new oil filter. As luck would have it, I had one ... so I started the oil draining.

Went inside once I got that going and dished up some of those pork chops and scalloped potatoes which had been simmering in the crock pot all day.

After I ate I went out and got the new filter put on, drain plug installed, and filled it up with Mobil 1 10w30. Still need to service the air filter.

Downloaded the owners manual for the engine to verify oil capacity and noticed on at least this latest version Kohler was talking a 300 hour service interval using their premium filter and their synthetic oil.

Don't feel quite as bad about my extending the drain intervals to 150 hours using Mobil 1. Probably could easily to 200 hours.

Final item for the day was taking the drain pan and old oil up to the shop and draining it into the 55 gallon drum of used oil.

Then back down to the house to finish off the last of the strawberries with some shortbread, whipped cream and half and half.

All in all, a reasonably productive day.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

It got noisy enough to wake me and to see what was happening outside. Light show is pretty much over now. Rain came in fast and left fast. I was worried I'd have to get dressed and run out and move the truck under a tree. Radio kept saying there was a chance of large hail but it looks like we dodged a bullet here. North of the big city must be getting hit really hard. All purple on the radar.

I'm going to lay back down. Gotta rearrange the shop today. New tire machine is taking up a lot of space with the added tire lift. 👏
