Good (Saturday) morning. Overnight Low of -0.8C and it's presently 12.7C, clear & calm.

Looks like a repeat of yesterday. The Mad Agisting Horse Woman (and Daughter) have taken the horses away to Bicheno for the weekend.

That's about it, take care all.

Prayers needed guys.

Eight Firefighters in a remote northern Alberta town became trapped last night as wildfires closed in on communities across the province, forcing thousands to evacuate.

The 8 Firefighters were forced to shelter in place and are waiting for rescue as the fire moved toward Chipewyan Lake, about 450 kilometers north of Edmonton.

The Firefighters were responding to a wildfire when they temporarily lost radio contact just after 8 p.m. Attempts are being made to rescue the members, but the smoke and fire conditions are hindering those attempts.
Prayers for those fighting the fire, especially those trapped.

Been a long week, and I'm behind.

Monday was off for Memorial Day. Still jimmying with the headlights on SUV. Just when I think I have them fixed, they act up again. It is a short or shorted connection for sure, I can "Fonzi" hit it and it comes on. The H1 bulbs had gotten so hot, they were burned out where the small wires come out of the quartz glass. Fixed those, now the low beam acting up on original side that the problems started with. The connector is likely the culprit. Takes a few minutes to pull back the front wheel's inner fender liner to get to the assembly's bottom bolt.

Worked Tuesday. Started a long laser fusion powder bed print right before I left. Today at 3ish, it paused and said low on powder, so it awaits me getting there to add more powder. I believe 1 column of parts is messed up already. Trying to print some really cool chess pieces. A design that you could only make by additive manufacturing.

Wednesday, took mom to Heart preop testing. Ironic, but she wanted a BBQ beef sandwhich after this. Don, before you roll your eyes too far....she's 95, has a great heart except for a leaking atrial valve, low cholesteral, low blood pressure... Had a major hail storm in Austin, had to drive into a multilevel parking garage, as between where I was, and where Don lives, they had "apple" sized hail. Didn't want my winders broken out. Was worth the 30 minutes. Only got about 1" hail and really high winds I would estimate at 40-60mph. They measured 78mph somewhere. The storm did a lot of damage across Austin and suburbs.

Thursday, mom had a successful mitral valve clip operation. Done with a catheter through the groin. Doc said her heart went from major leakage, to just a trace. Kept her in hospital overnight for recovery and observation. He said her congenital heart failure pericardial effusion (which is liquid around the heart) should almost totally alleviate and she'll quit needing to go in the hospital and nearly dying every 6 months.

Friday, woke up to the sound of thunder at 430 AM. then went and waited with mom while they got some more checks done and then released her. They recommended her for a "Watchman" heart procedure.
Said it would reduce risk of stroke to 1%, yes 1%...AND she can get off of blood thinner Eloquist. We hope to get that done in the next month.

A storm earlier in Victoria Texas knocked a really big branch out of her front yard tree. Son and I going to go chop it up tomorrow hopefully. She has a large tree in backyard that needs to come down, probably needs professionals. If a storm knocks it over, it will hit her home.

Ken, nice new to you mower. I bet you got a good deal compared to new price.

Prayers for Bupps and Holly. Also for Ted and wife.

Prayers for our team, our nation, for peace in the world, especially in Ukraine and Israel.

L4N be careful with metformin it almost destroyed my kidneys
I am supposed to take one in the morning with breakfast and two at night with supper. 1500 mg total. What I take is one at night with supper unless it is a particularly heavy supper then 2. Last A1C was 6.4
Looked over some of the electrodes on hand for stick welding and found that I have a lot more than I thought. 150 lbs of E6010 1/8, 3/32 inch, 50 lbs of 7018 5/32 inch, some E6013 and E6011 1/8 inch. Most of it is in sealed tin cans and supposedly should be good without attracting hydrogen.
PopG would it be worthwhile to get a rod oven to be able to use them after being open to atmosphere. Maybe for my limited use it does not make much difference since it is not be a certified weld
You could get a decommissioned bar fridge as long as the light still works, just bypass the switch that turns the light off when you shut the door.. That should keep your rods dry.

Got a phone call today, the tractor is done. All filters except air and fuel changed, oil changed, valves adjusted and the hydraulics fixed. The hydraulic problem was a busted O-ring on the suction side of the pump. Dodged a $1900.oo bullet there. Total price for the work was just shy of $1700.oo. The towing company that I used to take it up to the mechanic will pick it up on Monday, while I am in North Bay.
