... and that happened to me last evening as I missed a bottom step and, fortunately, landed on a fairly thick carpet.

Do you wear glasses? With progressive lenses the bottom step is usually not where it appears to be. I have them and have misjudged the bottom step a few times.

Good evening all. 75ºF for the start, mostly clear sky, very light breeze. light wind, some cloud increase in afternoon, and high temp was 100ºF, HI 109ºF. Made coffee to start day, Grief Share, bike ride, mow pars of front yard, found 2 balls. Stepdaughter came over and she and her hubby took the boat out to get used to it and drug me on skies, will get video sooner of later . No nap and falling asleep.
Ron glad you are getting light rain. Good to hear PT is helping. Glad pond maintenance got done. Hope you were able to conserve some energy. Is there a robin traffic control?
Drew glad heat gone for a bit. Heat won't last much longer. Sorry about the wire issue.
Happy(NC) good to hear getting ready for concrete.

Mike glad you got some job work done. Hope you can get the rounds taken care of.

Drinking fresh cup of coffee. 62° with cloudy skies. Heading to 72° with mostly cloudy skies and a brisk NW wind. .39" rain yesterday. I got a complete conserver energy day. Did some phone calls that solved insurance and product problems. Also did a couple of family calls. Off to PT early today. May cut back field grass in the afternoon.

Mostly, no traffic control. Just how Robins behave.

I have almost made an executive decision NOT to install the oil meter. We'll see on that score.

Good morning TBN! 62 here this am and suppose to get up to 71 this afternoon. Never got to mow the yard yesterday, so I must do that today but did get mutts out for two walks. Must complete snow roller assembly today and move it back to its summer storage area. Did figure out I wasn't leaving the ego riding mower plugged in long enough to fully charge. Slow learner!

Good Morning.
62° and bit foggy, only going up 10° with a slight chance of rain as it becomes partly cloudy.

Yesterday’s breakfast was good, oldest son showed up and an old friend was at the DMV in the same plaza and spotted us and joined as well. He was thereto get Real ID, and was not successful because he has no middle name on his birth certificate, but does on all of his other paperwork. Not a happy camper, but we had a great visit.

I did a bit of puttering around, some computer paperwork, I figured out how to create a single PDF from an Acrobat portfolio.
After lunch I decided to mow the pastures, somehow I managed to get the Landpride mower stuck in the quick hitch with only one side in the ears. Had to get a come along to straighten it out, but eventually got it hooked up.
Managed to make a two minute job take 10 times as long as it should have.

But got it hooked up and accomplished the mowing.

They are a pain to mow because of all the fence lines, and lots of opening and closing gates. But they’re all done and everything is put away.
This morning I’m off to Costco for some pork shoulders, I decided I needed to smoke some to make pulled pork.
Son and DIL are coming as well, they want to put some chickens in the smoker while I have it fired up.

good morning, 70 going to 81 cloudy wet grass from light shower overnight

GD moving into housing at college today. Helped out with necessities for her

Took wife to her infusion appointment and while waiting found on iPhone a gas station on East side of town that was 60 cents cheaper per gallon for diesel than the rest of town. Went there and filled up.
Stopped by and picked up up groceries

Fridge in basement was not cooling right. It is a 30 year plus GE unit that has refused to die. Cleaned the coil in the bottom of the fridge, very tight clearances. Wife suggested to tape the cardboard tube from a kitchen roll to the vacuum cleaner hose and flatten it a bit. Worked. Also ordered a can of Nu-Calgon spray to further clean the coil, 18 dollars ouch. It works good now and spraying it to dissolve the rest of the dust will make it even better. Should do the same to the upstairs fridge and 2 freezers in the basement

That one peach from the new tree was the best I've had in years. We all shared it and all agreed.
Looking forward to next years crop.

Did get the rest of the bush trimming and vines cut back and the front area trimmings cleared out yesterday, the job is much easier without yellow jackets chasing me around.

Son is off to college this weekend, going to be strange without him here.

Uncle is getting a bit worse, and there is lots of drama now with his support crew and room mate.
Very difficult for brother and I to help being he is on the other coast.

I had no problems posting this morning at 4:35. Maybe its something I did.

70.3F and overcast @ 11:00, heading up to around 74F for the day’s high. Partly sunny skies later, 20% chance of light rain at some point.

Did get some rain yesterday evening, doubt it was all that much … less than 0.25” showing in the rain gauge here. Will be enough to keep the grass green and growing.

That’s in contrast to random nearby locations where there were heavy downpours.

Next best chance for rain appears to be around late Sunday.

Got just shy of 6 lbs of yellow summer squash shredded for bread/cake, packed up, and put in the freezer.

May have smoked the vacuum sealer in the process due to the last bag (the 4th) being too wet.

Machine was taking forever to pull a vacuum and eventually heard a pop … but didn’t see any magic smoke.

Have the unit torn down and taken apart to dry out, will troubleshoot it further later today.

Still have 4 yellows and 3 zucchini left to do … not counting whatever is lurking out in the garden … which I haven’t checked for a day or two.

Today’s automotive maintenance task is to top off the transmission fluid in The Woman’s ride which has a slow leak/seep.

Other items on the agenda for today:

Pay a couple of bills.

Wash out pre filter for Cub air filter, which is overdue for a change. Cub is now at 804 hours.

Refill Water Buffalo.

Maybe start next round of watering in the garden.

Pick whatever is ready to be picked.

More work on prepping produce for the freezer.

Beyond that see what else comes up.

70 out in light drizzle
fiddled with weedeater, could not get old head off, pretty sure what I bought won't fit but going to let another
set of eyes on it. Meanwhile I went out and weedeated the whole place. A single line trimmer just doesn't have much power but
on regular grass, it's ok. I'm trying to replace it with a double line head.

SIL came over to cut some hydrangea flowers for table arrangements for MIL's memorial lunch on Friday.

no plans for this afternoon, might go hunt down some cheap mums

Spent the afternoon on the LS and got a good section mowed. Looking better and better every iteration but still long way to go.
