good morning, 38 going to 55 colder morning

Ice maker stopped working. Ice bin would not come out to get access. Reached in as far as possible to fiddle with it through the ice bin door. Gave it up but surprising wife later reported it was making ice again.

60 year anniversary today

BEF happy birthday.

Phosphate is commonly used in boilers and steam generators to prevent scaling of boiler tubes. Makes sense it would be adapted for use in residential applications
Congratulations. 56 years here and thank God every day for my wonderful wife ❤️

Good Tractor Morning Steve,

So you’re only driving the amp with 30w, if you increase that there is no appreciable gain in output from the amp ? Not that I’m complaining, 450 watts is better than quadruple the power I’m presently running 😉
Scott I can probably get a little more but why tax the Amp? Wouldn't see much of a signal increase to me not worth it. Better and cheaper option is a Good Antenna IMO

Morning all, 40 going to 60 and sunny.
Did not get anything done yesterday after work, too tired.

My particle filter has a pressure relief button on top, or the plastic wrench would never work.

Scotty, we may walk by each other as we are in Downtown NYC tomorrow for family weekend at my Son's college.

Happy anniversary M7040 hope you have a great day together.

Happy birthday Tinhack!

Thall303 - that's a good run

Be well,

69°F and .49 inches rain so far.

Another good day mowing yesterday. Did get the major flat area done but not the special slopes. 26.6 hours on the tractor.

Off to Hilo town this morning for Friday follies. Need to refill 4 diesel cans. Getting about 1.1 hrs/g.

If today’s wx pattern is consistent, should get back to mowing this afternoon. Guessing about another 3 hours to finish.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great tractor day

Coffee is cooling in cup. 39° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 50° with cloudy skies. Grocery shopping went good. Local Sam's Club changed the direction of all their center isles to a line with outer isles. Not sure this is good. But it was different. Stopped at Menards for some Sassy treats. Even dog food has gone up it price. Spent rest of the day practicing how to conserve energy. Today hope to get yesterday shop and pole barn cleaning done.
Took this photo while getting mail from mailbox.

Good Tractor Morning RS,

RS, yes it was a success in not only the flow rate, GPM, but also in the fact that we now had considerably more reserve with the much deeper well.
BTW, this is the Ct home ,not the Vt home. I have never had an issue with the well in Vermont, although I do sometimes get concerned with that well because it still has the original pump from 1998 when the house was built 😳. And always pray that when it decides to let go it’s not when I have our entire family there for a holiday weekend in the middle of the winter 😉.

In any event I certainly hope that your problems can get rectified as mine did RS 🙏
My house has the original well pump from when it was new in 1997, had to pull it twice for holes in the riser pipe.

46F and overcast @ 12:45, only heading up to around 50F for the day's high. Slight chance (15%) for a rain shower. Low this morning was 32.1F.

Got housing unscrewed from the pleated filter last evening, had to use a short block of 2 x 4 and hammer on that to get it to break loose.

Think I even applied some silicone plumbing grease to it previously, still pretty tough to get loose. Will grease it up again before it's put back in service.

After that I de-soldered the 3/4" copper pipe that fed it and removed that leg and filter head.

When this was originally installed, the guys who put it in didn't use any unions ... so if it needed replaced the plumbing lines to it had to be completely dismantled. I'll add a pair of unions so that any filters can be easily removed in the future.

After that was done I removed the steel mounting bracket which was lag bolted into the solid concrete walls.

Then took a measurement to see whether there was enough room to put up a 4 x 8 sheet of foamboard on that wall.

Just short of 48" ... so the pressure switch for the well, the wiring box for the power to the well pump, and the board they are mounted on will have to be taken down and moved temporarily. That's likely on the agenda for later today.

Spent some time after that relocating stuff on that end of the utility room so I'd have some room to work.

Another item on the agenda for today will be to get the old water heater moved out of the basement which will free up a little more room to work.

Still figuring out what needs to be beyond that.
