good morning, 34 going to 53 and the winds are finally over with it looks like

As typical made coffee and walked Cody to come back to a hot cup of coffee.
Fired up with scraps collected from splitting and a few knotted newspaper pages and off it went on first try

Piddled a little with the set up of the post vise. Drilled one of the 3/8 inch holes in the work bench and mounted the plate from the vise temporarily to line it up. It is all hand made by blacksmiths so holes were made with drifts on anvils so not like todays machining tolerances. Jacked it up from the bottom with a screw jack and drove out the wedge that binds the yoke to the attachment plate in order to line it up. If time permits may continue on that later today

Good morning TBN!!
26 again this morning but should just make 60 today.

Easy day yesterday again.
Worked in the shop acclimating my new to me tool box and cutting pads for the drawers.
This morning I came to the garage with huge gas smell. Seems the buggy has a drip. Need to get appropriate hose clamps. Glad I fired up the torpedo from the house have it running now with fan pulling out the fumes. Feels like I am heating the outside though.
Not sure what the agenda today will be. Lots to do but not sure where to start. Life of retirement :) Maybe I'll do nothing. There is always tomorrow.

Time for a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

it takes about 8 minutes to cut my thinning hair.
I always shampoo it before I go for a haircut so no need for added services.
and I tell them nothing but water, nothing that smells.
reminds me of the bay rum you'd get as a kid
I'm now on the fourth barber in the same shopping center, over the years.
They have died off or just left.
at least can make online appointments
old days it was walk in only

considering the cost of everything else today
and that I am in a high rent district, a 30 dollar basic men's haircut makes sense.
so my forty dollar haircut represents a five dollar increase, because only five dollar tip
at that rate. So forty five total instead of forty. But thirty is the right number.
I guess they can't make a living around here without charging more.

I used to pay 20 bucks in NC.
so I'm paying double now.
when I asked for a five year lease on this cottage
I also asked for a 5 percent increase each year.
That was important since rent on this place is at least a thousand under the norm for area.
So wanted to lock down advantage I had. 2500 for a two bedroom townhouse or my little cottage.
Cottage for sure, don't think I could live that close to other folks any more.

Bill, I wish I could cut my own hair, doesn't look hard to do, I know some of us do it. Or our spouses do.
with my fused neck, no way I can twist around enough to do it.
my beard is coming in, white as usual, and I have to keep that trimmed around my mouth.
I use the lowest setting on clippers though in really cold weather I might go up next level for more insulation.
my own built in fleece

Popgadget hasn't shaved since before he was married.
Think it would be cool if he pranked Erica by shaving it all off,
with cameras set up of course.
now if he walked into the barber shop, well ka-ching

Drew, my haircut last week was $20. I stopped going to different barbers recently. They could not figure out how to cut my hair shorter like it was when I entered barbershop. They seem to think I wanted a spiked haircut.
My neighbor was taking me with him for a haircut monthly for a couple of years. But his kids care and job hours have stopped that.

And he cuts his own hair with the dog clippers and a 1/4” comb. Just run it all over my face and head!
Speaking of dogs, I have a client that has two standard poodles that travel with her, they were her late husband’s hunting dogs, and apparently very good ones.

What ever happened to the shave and a haircut...two bits.

In 1964 I paid ten cents for a haircut in the Air Force. Forty cents a month. Q.R.Air orders we had to be clean shaven and neatly dressed at all times. (Queens Regulations and Orders for the Air Force).

Not much else to report. Don , do you have any special exercises for for me this year ? 😂
Yes, interval walking. 3 min regular pace and 3 minutes all out fast walking X 6.

Good morning! 52˚F heading to the low 80s, S wind clear skies.
Yesterday was a productive day. Finished touch-up painting of the rustic sponge 2 color in the bathroom. It was originally painted to look like old tuscan plaster. I was able to duplicate it after removing the grab bar from the wall and relocating the toilet paper holder.. My wife said the grab bar made her feel old.

Then the pool robot decided it did not want to work any longer. Called the manufacture and it was still under warranty and they sent a shipping label for me to mail it to them today.

Toyota called and they will have a 2026 Tacoma, my color - Bronze oxide, arriving in January.
