good morning, 30 going to 46 with a little snow for the next hour or so

Walked Cody as usual and made coffeee

Mounted the V plow on the RTV and adjusted for level first in the scoop position and then in the V position

Brushed on a coating of Fluid Film to hopefully avoid sticking snow and ice on the blades

Foot is still cooperating so did more than 14K steps

Good morning, the low is 21 and going up to 28°F. Wind E 16 gusting to 23 mph. Snow! Approximately 4" expected on top of the 2" we got Friday night. I'll most likely plow tomorrow.

I keep the thermostat for the oil furnace set at 76°F., year round. When the outside temperature gets down to below zero F., then the wood furnace comes into play. If it gets down around -40 then the upstairs wood stove gets fired up.
The downstairs wood furnace has a plenum and a fan. It blows the heat towards to cold air return and the hot water tank (it takes the heat out of the air to help heat the water). The wood stove upstairs (in the living quarters) has a fan above it to blow the heat down the length of the house and into my man cave. Two ceiling fans (one in the living room and the other in my man cave) suck the heat from the kitchen area (where the wood stove is at) towards the living room and my man cave. I find that electric heaters suck more hydro than they are worth.

Speaking of hydro (electricity) ours went up to $0.12/kwh up to 1,000kwh. Anything over the 1,000 kwh co$t$ $0.142/kwh. Still the lights go off randomly and the bandits wont reimburse for the gas we use to run the genny while they putz around restoring the juice.

In previous winters I wore a uniform shirt (long sleeved) and a thermal shirt on top with black jeans and my rabbit lined mukluks to plow. This winter I am feeling the cold more and put a T-shirt on too. I have a pair of goat skin gloves in the tractor that I wear IF I have to touch anything outside. I wear them when fueling up, too. I don't mind the stink of diesel fuel, but my cat hates it.

Good morning tbn from home in Houghton! We got snow showers predicted this morning and a high near 26. North wind at 10 mph, with 30 mph gusts. Chance of precipitation is 80% with just a few inches possible. No big deal. We will be getting pods installed on 2 machines today. Hopefully anyway. Snow at camp and pod installation pics.

Will restock the wood supply closer to the farm house this AM and check on the animals. That's about it.

and our 2 YO granddaughter stole the show. She invented a new hugging game where she runs and crashes into you for a hug...goes around the whole room giving hugs bouncing around like a pinball machine

I had to put my Mom in a nursing home. I hired a lawyer to get it done

Ron, I consider myself extremely fortunate in the fact that I was able to keep my parents in their condo until the end If it wasn’t for my fathers disability pension from the VA, it would not have been possible. He lost a considerable amount of his hearing during WW2. At least he was affected later in life.
If not for his service, I don’t think we could have done it.

Wonder why I was moderated?

Happens almost daily to me, the last few weeks. Mod’s said that advertisers have essentially required the forum ownership to flag certain words for moderation. So now, the poor mod’s have to read every flagged post, to either approve or discard.

I’m not sure how this particular forum is set up, but in most cases the mod’s are not the owners of the forum. It’s common that rules are put in place by the owners, which are not in the best interest of the mod’s, but rather in the best interest of their customers.

Forum users are often under the misconception that they are the customer. You are not. Users are the product. Advertisers are the customers. Not a big deal, you get a free forum to play in, for that price of admission.
