Robert,

I did a lot of searching online yesterday for XXL and XXXL work gloves with little or no success. Finally, I started jotting down contact information and made a list.

Today, I called a number of glove manufacturers. Most were no help at all. One seemed at least interested in having me talk with someone so I climbed the corporate ladder a bit until I got to a man who seemed genuinely interested in at least talking with me about my problem.

He told me that, in fact, they have very little call for even XXL gloves, much less anything larger. Much to my surprise, he said there was more interest in XS (extra small) sizes than in anything above XL. He attributed a lot fo that to the influx of oriental and Mexican/central American workers here.

Nonetheless, he told me that they did have two different models of leather work gloves that they did manufacture in XXL. You'll love this part. He's sending me a pair of each just to see if I like them. I'm always amazed at what you can get accomplished if you're just persistent enough. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

For obvious reasons, I'll not name him or his company here but I'll certainly get hold of you when these arrive and let you know my impressions and where they might be available if you'd like me to. In the meantime, if you find any good ones in XXL or XXXL, please let me know about them.

My father grows roses for shows. It's a thorny proposition /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif so he needs good gloves to protect his hands and yet have a good degree of flexibility. He found that in a glove by Oregon Glove Co.
It's a Grain Silver Goatskin (called the Rose Glove, I believe). They are about $20 a pair. I use them now and have been for about 4 years now.

Let me know how they are. It would certianly be nice to find something sized right.

I checked at our local western/feed store. The lady brought out a stack of glove/supplier catalogs, and none had anything bigger than XL.

I tried email to West County, but they never answer back. I like thier glove, but again too small. I had hoped maybe that, even though thier production is in China, they might do thier patterns and stuff Sateside.

The one place I have not checked is any of the custom leather places that make biker chaps, jackets, ect.

Here is a link to Duluth Trading . I have their catalog and they have an impressive listing of work gloves along with other work related clothing and tool items. They have several gloves up to XXL also. I've never purchased anything from them, but I will before long. If you can believe half of what they claim, it looks like good stuff.
