Ordered my Piranha 3/29, tracking says I'll have it 4/3. Harry was pleasent to deal with. I'm looking forward to it's receipt and install. Report coming.

Harry does seem like a good person with whom to do business. Shipping to Canada is a killer though - once shipping, customs fees and local sales tax are paid it amounts to almost 66% of the purchase price.
I am trying to find someone I know (one of those Canadian snowbirds) to bring it back for me. If not, it looks like I will have to either look closer to home or wait until I might be able to make the trip south.

Too bad though - this certainly looked like a winner!

Installed mine 10 minutes ago. Very quick and easy install with a step drill bit (for those like me who don't have a full set of bits in all sizes).

I'll test it if the weather ever breaks. Right now, I need a mud dredge.

I would like to know now that some of the posters in this thread have had it for awhile how they like it? How does it work for tough to penetrate material such as mulch, woodchips, crushed stone etc.?

The reason I ask is I have used my BX to move woodchips and it was no easy task. Not he easiest material to penetrate. I was thinking of getting a toothbar to turn the bucket into more of a pitch fork rather than a flat edged shovel that it is. If you have ever tried to shovel mulch you will know how much easier it is to use a pitch fork.

Has anyone used it for this and how does it work?

Has anyone who has a piranha blade ever used a more conventional toothbar as well? And if so how does it compare? It would seem a more traditional toolbar would be more "fork like" for penetrating those types of materials.

How does the wear capabilities seem to be. The chisel point edge seems nice but does it hold up? Especially against rocks that might be encountered while digging. A lot off the other standard tooth bars use a more blunt tine that seem to have more mass and alot of them have replacable tips.

I can clearly see how it would do well for brush clearing and even help with ground digging, how does it compare for digging?

Dont get me wronge, I like Harry's products alot. I have the BH dolly, Bucket hooks and the under armor is in transit as we speak. While this tooth bar looks really nice I have the same concerns other have had over the "one tool" for all applications" and wonder about how it really compares to standard offerings for digging and tough to penetrate materials as well as life expectancy. While the brush clearing aspect would be nice and I am sure it would get some use in that capacity, it is not by any means what reason for buying this tool would be.

Thanks

This past Saturday I used my BX2360 with the Piranah toothbar to move various materials around my campground.

I started with wood chips that covered the kids playground that I scrapped and piled after last Septembers floods. The material was a mixture of full size ships and those that have roted into fine mulch, loading into a CAM dump trailer for fill elsewhere in camp. Took 12 trailer loads. No problem, the bucket cut right in.

I then assisted 3 other campers who had loads of crushed stone delivered to their sites, one a 2B, one a 1B and the other some sort of pulverized stone. Again, the bucket cut right into the piles.

After that, another camper had to move a deck that had floated off his site. To get it back we had to dig into a small bank, through sod, moving a small amount of the bank. Again, no problem.

Lastly, when I received and installed the Piranah at home, I had to play with it a bit. I tore into my woods, pushing, pulling and lifting small brush. The tractor move these with ease. I dug into an old rotted stump and dug it out with ease, but then it was old and rotted.

All and all I'm very happy with the Piranah. It does what it claims to.

If I had one complaint, and I really don't, it is with the BX itself. It's power is limited. It does what I ask of it, cut grass, grade my drive and act as my wheelborrow. I pushed it to it's limits many times over the past 6 months cleaning up flood debris. Often I wished I had a B or L series, for those jobs.

Thank you for the info.

Anyone else?

And sorry for the double post

Last weekend I had 12 yards of wood chips delivered. I use them in the woods next to my house for a path, picnic area and near a fire pit. I spread 12 yards in about 2 hours with a B2620 with an LA364 loader that has a new BXpanded Piranha. Absolutely no problems digging into the pile. I'd load some and move them to various places...I was getting pretty good at spreading them evenly so I had very little hand raking to do. I'd also use the loader to back drag and smooth them nicely. The piranha allows you to back drag a nice smooth line.

After that I tore into some vines and briars in my woods. The tooth bar works real nice for tearing out vines, weeds, brush, etc. Cleared out a couple of nice areas in no time.

Next I moved to my garden. Wanted to expand it by several feet. Used the tooth bar on the bucket to dig a larger perimeter of my garden lifting up and turning over sod around the edge. Worked real nice... Not much effort.

As far as I'm concerned this thing is doing exactly what I wanted... Maybe even works a bit better for my applications than a standard tooth bar.

I to have felt that way before and I found a solution. Actually I found the solution several, several times. :)
There are many people wanting a tractor the size of the one you have. Some of them call Barlows asking for a machine the size of yours. Barlows and maybe your local Kubota dealer will take your tractor and after signing a few papers deliver to you a different bigger/more HP Kubota. It can be new or even a used one that someone decided wasn't the right size for them, at the time. Needs change.
See, I told you I had the solution to make your wish come true.:D:laughing:
