My new l5460 was delivered yesterday.
Started having some fun and smelled hydraulic oil. It was dripping below.
Jumping to the chase, it gushes when operating one of the rear remotes, like the top.
Dealer was going to sent someone out to check it out, but I guess had someone driving by with an empty rig so the current plan is they are going to pick it up and bring it back to the shop. Plus they are short handed for road service calls.
I was hoping for a really simple leak like a loose connection, but it was a step out of my pay grade (which is pretty low). The leak is completely repeatable, so worse case the dealer will need to order a particular metal hose and have me back in business within the week.
Impressions were it was fun, although the tilt dropped too much and drove me crazy. Hopefully it's related to the hyd leak. Else it's coming off and going into the parts box.
Also the FEL a number of times would be very unresponsive, and then after some tries act normal. Could not reproduce that but don't think it's related to the rear leak (at least I could find no pattern). Hope I can figure that out.
The dealer mechanic installed some protection around the lower 3rd functions hoses (beneath tractor), which is good as I would have ripped those out in minutes dragging the brush I was with my new hrl3578. He did a good job, although I would like a slight addition to what he did.
Another thing I learned is a huge benefit of the hydraulic scarifier bar on my new LP BB is since I was pulling out roots and other debris with the teeth - by lifting the scarifier bar it pretty much cleared the brush from them. A really big deal for what I was doing.
So for now I am back out of business. I did run it a bit more even after seeing it was leaking because I could stand not to, but it was really dripping like crazy so I restrained myself and parked it...
Also I had to try out my new 72 inch FS RR this morning in spite of the leak, and that thing is going to be great for raking live brush back. Very cool.
Here's how I left the tractor this afternoon dripping onto cardboard and waiting to be picked up.
Next is where the leak is. Looked the a rigid line got damage during assembly and not fully checked (I am sure it leaked immediately.) The view is looking under the seat forward from the rear.
