Is that the same bucket they use on the LA854 loader? It looks like it has a larger capacity but maybe it is just the picture.

It's just the angle. It's the regular 72 inch HD round bucket with the bolt on lip.

Yes, without DPCV some settling is going to happen, but yours seems excessive. Mine is more than I would like and my shop foreman is researching to see what is "normal". I haven't measured mine, but it doesn't interfere with using my box scraper, just lets my cutter get a bit out of adjustment and I just bump it up once in a while when it gets noticeable.

I have a call into Kubota as to what they deem "normal" in terms of tilt sinking. They called back to make sure they understood the question and said they would call me back again after they checked into what is the spec. that was a couple days ago so I doubt I'll hear back from them....

If the "leak down" on mine does not improve with the other leak repair, I will probably take off the Kubota tilt. Will consider a dpocv cylinder although it would kind of smart to have a new $400 cylinder sitting in a drawer.....

My goal was to allow future ability to float the tilt, and that is why I had a float valve installed and did not start with a dpocv.

I got a call from the dealer's mechanic and the leak has been fixed. He said it was pretty buried so I should not feel bad about not fixing it myself.

He was a bit vague on the problem and when I pressed him he said there was an o ring that had been accidentally cut during the installation of the rear remotes that needed to be replaced.

Good news is it's fixed and I will have it back soon. He tested the leak down on the tilt and said it's within specs. ...oh well.

Also he added a small piece to the rear of the cover he built for me for the of the 3rd function hoses below the tractor. Cool.

Actually the dealer and the main mechanic and the delivery driver I've dealt with have been great to deal with. That is why when I bought the tractor I took a slightly worse quote than another dealer gave me. This dealer's rep is the best in the area and we both know he'll get alot of money from me over time so he'll keep me happy I am sure.

For those that don't think they'd catch those hoses as they don't drive through brush, think about how much the tractor can sink down when you spin a wheel good. Or look at the wear marks on the bottom of the cover he built for me and how short a period of time I had the tractor. Seriously, how exposed those lines are on the L60 from Kubota is crazy and I highly recommend protecting them. The tractor already has places to mount a plate/box and so maybe Kubota will come up with an optional skidplate at some point to go along with the 3 rd function kit.

When you get the tractor back, please measure the drop rate at the rod. I am VERY interested as to what the OEM acceptable drop rate is.

I definitely will.

Now that it is not puddling, I will park it on a solid surface to get a better reading.

I ordered Kubota single rear remote on my B3300SU. Tractor had to return to the Kubota shop twice to eliminate hydraulic fluid leaks relative to this option. After that "teething" problem corrected it has been leak free the succeeding two years, despite the fact that I work it in the woods where it goes through plenty of brush.

( I did have a resolved problem with brush dragging the HST Neutral switch out of tolerance so the B3300SU would not start.)

You have a tractor that is the cream of the crop. I am sure it your hydraulic fluid leaks will be resolved.

This is your FIRST tractor. One or two days of use is too soon for you to be impugning Kubota engineering.

Comment after 200 hours on your L5460.

Your added comments at the end confuse me. If you were to see in person where the 3rd function hoses are routed on the L60 series due to where they put the tank I don't think you'd berate me for calling it problematic.

And yes although it is the first tractor I've owned, it is not the first machine I've owned/been around during the last 60+ years. And I'm not impugning Kubota engineering really , just a single poor routing decision based on how I'll use the tractor. Without the extra protection I would have torn off the lower hoses in the first 4hrs I ran it.

Now if you hear me complaining about something like HST algorithms or something that my lack of tractor years calls into question, then you have a point no doubt.

But in terms of how the OEM lower 3rd function lines on the L60 series need protection the way I'll use the tractor, I will bet the farm I will feel exactly the same in 2000 hrs of operation.

Luckily it's a very simple thing to improve on. And I did a lot of work in the too short 4 hours I ran it until I was low on fluid, and as I reported I was loving the machine.

edit: as I posted in another thread, the tractor has some mounting holes already down there and I would not be surprised to see an extra option for the 3rd function valve kit - a bolt on skid plate. watch for it....

I think BGig is doing great and working with his dealer to resolve a hard to find but simple problem. The dealer probably didn't test the hydraulics under full load pressure which is often when hydraulic leaks show up. Not optimum, but understandable. Well on the way to years of use from a nice tractor.

BGig,
I'm sorry to hear about the issues your having with your new tractor, it sounds like the leak is fixed and hopefully you'll find something out with the tilt cylinder. I'm also interested in how much is 'acceptable'. With my tilt cylinder, I'd be surprised if it seeps more than an inch or so in an hour with a 1400lb stump grinder hanging way off the back of it.

I'm very happy to hear your positive comments on going with the hydraulic scarifiers on the box blade! :D It's funny, I also raise the scarifiers up a lot when I get roots/branches stuck in them to clear them, but up until reading your comment on it, I've never thought about it as an "advantage", I just didn't even think of the fact that if I didn't have the hydraulics I couldn't do that, most likely because this is the only box blade I've ever used.

As a quick note about lack of experience with tractors, I am willing to bet that you know 10 times more than the average joe blow who has been running tractors for a long time, sure you may not have the seat time yet (which is obviously valuable) but just based on your posts we can tell that you've spent a LOT of time and energy learning about various aspects of tractors and implements. Your spot on with wanting to protect those hoses underneath, I had a good size limb disable my tractor for a few hours because of lack of protection under there.
