Bucket Hooks Got new EZ Hooks!

Looks like a good 'home project' if you could . But for me it would be more cost and effort effective to purchase . Buy the time you figure in the materials and the labor. Its well worht the purchase price. One savings would to possibly make the spreader bar yourself. But the amount of work that would go into the building of the main unit, would be too much expecially if you dont have the good equipment.
Glad you like it.I like that it doest extend the links out. and caries the weight over the arm.
The only effect this arrangment has is it changes the height of the link to the top , This reduces the top link adjustment.

I agree Bedlam, I started to have such a project but the heat was getting to me. Mr. Carter, has already done the math, so to speak, so I got his product. And by the time it was over I am SURE glad I did!
You are right about the connections and the fact that your PTO shaft doesn't have to be extended further, which is a plus in my books. Viz I can't afford to buy a new PTO shaft. They are a good product.

I also noticed the fact that the weight is over the lower arms and not rearward. That makes it nice to know my driveshafts will work the same as before. I think I'll give tham a call as soon as I get my QuickHitch back to Harbor Frieght. Very tired of messing with that thing and adapting everything to get it to work. They said "if you don't like it, bring it back."

Two questions: first, does anyone have first hand knowledge if the lower arms on a 2007 Kubota L3400 will fit the sranard demensions of the EZ and second, whats the feeling on buying the spraeder bar?

I can't comment on the fit because I have Pat's, but here are the dimensions from Carter's website:

Will EZ-HITCH fit my tractor???

I did not get the spreader bar with my hitch so I made one. However, I have not had to use it yet. When I back up to an implement I can usually move the lift arms to the right distance apart and they will stay there long enough to hook up. If you think you need the spreader bar, go ahead and buy it. It is not cost effective to make a similar one.

This design was originally set up for my Kubota, so they fit great on the Kubota lift arms. As for the spreader bar, mine is basically a turnbuckle that fits between the two hitches. Left hand thread on one side and right hand thread on the other.

I bought the spreader bar with mine and I have forgot to remove it (twice) when using a pto tool and it will bend the crap out of it. It works great if it is set correctly for the impliment but otherwise you have to adjust it. Once the impliment is on the tractor, it is useless, I operate without mine.

I used a 3/8 inch turnbuckle too. Bought a piece of 3/8" threaded stock for the RH side. No matter which you use, Pat's or Home made..... it's pretty handy.

Emmy great job I looked at the pic, and had to go back an be sure , as I thought you said you made. it it looked like a factory production. hmm or even better.
If you watch the video.
youll see that they use a bungy cord to hold the arms together, and then use the tractor stabilizer arms adjustments to adjust for the width. But even without the bar, im sure its easier either way.

Bed,

You are correct, when I made the video I only had the bungy cord on the tractor. As long as you back up square to your implement you don't really need the spreader bar. Where the spreader bar reallly comes in handy is if you DON'T back up square to the implement; the spreader bar will allow you to bump the implement and square it up. If you only have the bungy cord you can't move the implement. What happens is the hitches just slide off the end of the draw pins. That is why I made my hitches with the wide opening, it also helps to guide them into place if you are not perfectly square. It gives you about 1/2" or so, which does not sound like much but it does help.
