Eleven thousand something. Doesn't matter as all are covered. All have these problems.

My GR2100 left rear wheel won't freewheel. (this time, last time it was the right rear) This is the third Glide Steer failure I've had in 272 hours of operation. My dealer has now contacted Kubota and recognized it as an official problem. I'm due to take it in soon, and I'll post what they tell me. First failure was a little bearing in the activation levers. Second two failures were broken control cables. I paid for replacing the first cable, don't plan to pay for this one.

I have had none of the transmission problems they mention in many of the forums.

Have you had it less than 4 years? Have you changed the tranny fluid yet?

I have let the dealer perform the major hour milestone service procedures (since he had the tractor to fix it anyhow). I'm not sure if 200-250 hrs included changing the trans fluid or not. I am going to look. This whole thread has enlightened me quite a bit. I got suspicious the other day when I saw a new GR2110 and noticed the front control cable mountings had been redesigned. That made me sure Kubota had recognized the problems I was having with Glide Steer cables. We've had ours for 3 years, and no transmission problems. However I'm going to ask the dealer what he knows about it---now that I've learned the truth. I just bought a BX25 with a FEL and backhoe to go with my GR2100. Gives me a little more leverage with the dealer.

My GR2100 has had 3 failures of the Glide Steer. First time it was a bearing on the control levers in the back on the axle. Fixed under warranty. Second time it was a broken control cable that runs from the front wheel to the back axle. I paid for cable and labor as it was out of warranty. Third time it was a cable again, and I asked the dealer what's Up with this? Only 275 hrs and 3 Glide Steer failures. Also while I was at the dealer I noticed they had changed the design of the front wheel cable mounting on the newer GR2100's. Bottom line, I got Kubota to go for fixing the problem. There is an upgrade kit that changes all the cables and the mountings over to the new design. Kubota supplied the parts, and my dealer kicked in the labor. Didn't cost me anything. However my dealer is a good one and likes me cause I've bought 2 tractors and some equipment from him. Just seems like the cable fix is not publicized---like Kubota doesn't want folks to know there was a design problem. If I hadn't looked into it, I'd still be breaking and replacing Glide Steer cables at my expense.
