Grabbing Small Tree Trunks

/ Grabbing Small Tree Trunks #11
For multiflora clumps, I have used the fel with longish forks to dig under the bush and/or throw a cable around the clump and pass one end through the loop on the other end. This is then connected to either the drawbar, a chain, or the FEL, depending on how far from the clump I can safely be with the tractor. The cable loop pulls tight around the base of the clump and the thing usually comes out pretty easily. I do this when the ground is soft, not baked into summer concrete.

How in the world do you get that close to the base to wrap a chain around it, without getting ripped?
