Grand L 30 PTO?

Do the Grand L 30 series tractors with the GST transmission have modulated (or soft, or feathered) rear PTO engagement?

The Grand L 30 brochure does say they have a "live-independent" rear PTO with a "hydraulically actuated clutch", but I cannot find any mention of wether or not the engagement is modulated (manually or electronically).

Not quite certain what you're asking. I've a L3410GST. If you engage the pto (lever to back right of seat on my unit) without pushing in the clutch, it's a very abrupt engagement and if the inertia of the implement engaged is large (e.g., a heavy duty brush cutter), the engine may well stall.
Whatever.
Push in the clutch, build up the rpm appropriate to the implement used, and then slowly let out the clutch (whole deal takes about 5 seconds). The tractor is best kept in neutral - you can do it moving, but it's a bit awkward (engaging the clutch for a few moments disengages the drivetrain).

My L4200 is in the Grand L series, I also have GTS.
The PTO control is hydraulic and you can feather the engagement using the control lever. That lever has about a 2 inch throw and if you slowly move it toward engaged, it will slowly start the PTO regardless of PTO load, forward speed or engine RPM. I posed this same question in the John Deere Owning/Operating forum and have discovered that the 4x20 series PTO knob is a digital on/off (possibly with a little bit of modulation at lower engine RPMs) design.

Although I tend to bleed green and I have a small 30+ year old John Deere utility AG tractor with a live, independent, and hydraulically activated PTO, I will have to consider the Grand L30 series CUTs if I decide to go that route.
