If anyone is ever driving across northern Indiana right in the middle of the state in Elkhart, IN, there is the RV Hall of Fame museum. It's worth a stop.

Anybody else remember getting soaped for de flu? Momma make you stand toward sun so she could look in mouth & throat for sore spots and if she saw her middle finger wipe right across bar of Palmolive and den onto sore spot. I love Momma, but she had long finger dat held lot of soap, and God himself wouldn't help no child bit his Momma.

Palmolive cure dem sore spots up fast cause flu bugs can't survive soap, bad taste but better den sores in throat.

OLDER sister used to clench so Momma couldn't look. She got tickled open and stick between teeth fer finger safety.

Mew Fords are said to turn much better in a parking lot then a GM.

I know guys who would not be interested in a FORD without an eight foot box.

I'm one of those guys. I have an '06 F150XLT, 4.6L standard cab, 2 WD, 8 foot bed. If I want to haul lumber, plywood or drywall it's not a problem, I don't have it hanging out the back. Wouldn't own a truck without a cap either. If I want to haul more than one person around or go on a trip, I take my old Town Car.
Thought about buying a new or newer truck last spring, but since '07 the only std. cab 8ft bed trucks made are F250s or F150 XLs, everything is 4 door, short bed, V6 (No Way!), 4wd.
A new 2020 model speced like I wanted it was over $41K, so I ended up getting the small amount of rust on it rust fixed and a whole new paint job. The engine is doing fine at 227K, only uses a quart of oil in ~6K miles, compressions a all good and even. Transmission is doing fine too, I have it serviced every 50K miles. Still has the original exhaust on it too. Did have to put new struts in it a year ago, both front springs had broken about one coil from the bottom.

Never owned a 4wd truck, never needed one, just another maintenance problem.
If the roads are so bad you need 4wd, I stay home. Let the 4wd idiots that think it makes them able to go anywhere as fast and stop as short as if the roads were clear litter the ditches and cause accidents.

I saw a truck outside of Rumford which must have been custom made. It was a nineteen fifty something GMC... 2 door extended cab. It was very nicely done.

There was a company that made these conversions for use by the railroad; the first "Crew Cabs". It's been a long time, but I believe the first ones I recall seeing were 50's or 60's Dodges.

When I got my first 4X4 Dodge Dakota an outdoorsman type friend took it for a test drive around the property here. Never forget what he told me what a 4x4 is good for. You drive in 2wd until you can't go any farther, then put it in 4wd and back out of there. I think there is a lot of truth to that.

The only difference between 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive is...when you get a 4 wheel drive stuck it's really stuck...!

Doesn't always work though. With one of my previous 4x4's I did that and was still stuck. Went into a mud hole in 2 wd and got stuck, put it in 4 and was still stuck. WTH. My buddy gets out and says one front wheel and back wheel are spinning. I concluded that I had 2WD drive going into the mud hole (limited slip rear diff) and one of the wheels lost traction. Then put it into 4 and only one front wheel driving. So I still only had 2 wheels driving. POS 4x4. New one has electronic locking rear. Much better and only needed it a few times to get up the bottom part of our neighbors driveway during the spring thaw.

Very few people understand this. Same applies to your tractor. Step on the diff lock and you have 3wd. Only "true" 4wd tractors around here are center pivot. :)

Thats my theory on the tractor when its wet. I mostly mow with a rotary cutter and if it gets to the point I need 4WD I need to go to the house and avoid the walk of shame.
