Just bought my first grapple from MTL. Now I’m going to have to go through this 180 page thread waiting for it to arrive.

when you need ballast use what you have around you. this is a 900 lb green, white oak log hanging 6ft off the back off a 700 lb rear blade. kept the rear down very well

These are from the day it was delivered, literally about 5 min after it cam off the trailer! I have used the grapple more than the bucket and actually just this week bought a set of pallet forks and am looking forward to finding as many uses for them as I have the grapple! It would be a tough call to pick between my hydraulic thumb or my grapple. I think I’d take the thumb. View attachment 626231

Tough call as I have neither in hydraulic but for log gathering/brush clearing seems a grapple would be best. For picking rocks, maybe a thumb. I do get by with my mechanical thumb on rocks now. My vote considering my circumstances would be the grapple. It would be a tough call to pick between my hydraulic thumb or my grapple. I think I壇 take the thumb. View attachment 626231

I bought a "Thumb" from The Thumb - Add-on Grapple Attachments and had my buddy Steve ,who is a master welder, adapt it to the forks and he indeed added reinforcement.
