I suppose that depends on the size fires you like to have in your fire pit now doesnt it :D[/QUOTE

Could get out of hand REAL fast.

I hadn't considered a gazebo/firepit combo
I like it!

Looks like quite a project. Believe me, that is not that bad, here in Oregon the ground is just sloppy mud right now. i need a whole week of dry weather before I do any excavation.

Agree, The ground looks soaked. No drinking and driving a tractor. Bad things happen.Let ground dry ouy and box blade flat again.

About a quarter of our backyard was off limits last spring bc of rain and its the low spot.
I installed a french drain, 80 feet long and started 2 feet deep.
All by hand, pick and shovel the whole way.

I bet a box scraper would have made this path much easier.
Get a 6 footer and scrape away an inch each pass, repeat till clear.

The ground is actually quite dry right now.
A tooth bar would be a helpful attachment.
Carrying those ties over has been a workload.

When I made a gravel path, I dug out about 3' wide path, from the side with the front end loader. Just dug out about 3-4" or so deep . Then put in weed barrier, then dumped asphalt millings on top. made a nice gravel walk, was quick to build, and very little mess.

I considered weed barrier but decided against it.
I will give it a healthy blast of weed killer twice a year.

I wanted to have all the ties in by end of day, I fell 3 short.
Will have them in tomorrow.
Hopefully level all ties by tomorrow as well.
Fill path starting Tuesday.
