Just curious what type of grease in everyone using? From general to moly based... what's your choice?
BTW have tractor supply close and many big box auto-parts stores.
thanks
I use TRC 880 #2. GREAT stuff !
It lasts forever as compared to others. They've been in business since 1922 started with oil well drilling.

My problem is not with the grease itself but with my Milwaukee battery powered grease gun. No matter what I do it seems to get air bound and not work. I gave up on it and went back to hand powered.
Do you use the button on the end to purge the air? Running it completely dry makes it a little more time consuming but still not a big deal.

Local big-box auto parts store stocks red & tacky so I went with that. Label says has lithium in it. Also got tired over the years and invested in ridgid 18V grease gun since I have more of their tools... all have lifetime warranty including batteries.

NOW, pulled hose off and zerk fitting broke so I may upgrade to quick release fitting.

new project... get the broken zerk out.
I have rigid as well, and like rigid, but now there are Many dewalt or Milwaukee compatible tools, and it just doesnt seem like anyone makes 3rd party tools that match Rigid. There are some $60 import grease guns on Amazon if you already are in the Dewalt line up

When I got my Kubota kx033-4 mini ex. I decided to get a 5 gal. pail of Mobilux EP2, because it's one of the 2 greases listed in the operators manual, and because of the many grease points on the machine as well as how frequent the machine needs to be greased. I also got a Makita gun because I already had (4) 5 amp hr. batteries. With the Lincoln manual grease pump model # 1296 that attaches to the top of the 5 gallon pail, you can fill the gun easily. This has worked flawlessly for me over the 2+ yrs. I've had it. Great system! I feel that rather than over think the brand of grease to use, just go with the manufacturer's reco. It's probably more important to do the greasing often than choosing the brand of grease. That is if it is recommended by the manufacturer.

This is what I carry in my side box of my semi-truck, has a few million miles on it!

Bought it over 40 years ago ... I don't use the bleed screw on this, or the button on my M12 Milwaukee to purge the air, I just don't screw the tube in all the way, then pump or squeeze the trigger until it's happy!

I actually prefer the manual over the electric ...

I use Valvoline Cerulean for anything with a bearing (u-joints, wheel bearings) and Valvoline Palladium (has molly) for anything else. Both are EP grease, cheap and available locally. If I could find it, I'd love to try TRC 880, or their Paragon 3000, but I'm not finding it local.

Very interested in this thread.

I've been running the Harbor Freight stuff, but wondering if I should change.

Noticed recently that I had a ton of "blow back" in my DeWalt 18V grease gun, half the grease was behind the plunger in the metal tube instead of coming out the front when I went to change it.

Figured it might be a problem with the grease/quality/quality of the tube, or a problem with how I'm using the grease gun.
