Hi All,

Found this forum while trying to find out why the hydraulic fluid in my MF 135 was coffee-coloured. Found several threads and have tackled replacing the hydraulic fluid myself...still debating on whether to tackle cleaning the hydraulic filter. I've got the PTO cover plate off and can see it but am a bit nervous about being able to replace the holding wire.

I'm a proud owner of an early 70's model (not sure the year but the serial number is 135-155963). We use the tractor primarily for mowing and hauling slices of baleage around our small farm here on the South Island of New Zealand.

Not sure if MF things are the same in your country (serial number wise) but here's data on your tractor. ...and if your model number is worldwide, it should be from 1973-74.

Hi Teg...thanks for the info on the serial number...I think this tractor was made in the UK so I wonder if the series are the same for each year.
BTW...if you want to come to NZ, just marry a Kiwi like I did...:)
I see you have Hillsville listed as a location, we still have a home in Mount Airy and I lived there from 2004 until we moved to NZ in 2015.

I would have to let my wife pick out the Kiwi girl... otherwise she might not approve!?!?

We love Mt. Airy, we drive through it every time we head up to Hillsville (I hate I-77 as a bypass). Been driving through it since 1989!! Usually stop at Lowes and Food Lion to pick stuff up. So a few week ago, USA TODAY Poll named Mount Airy Main Street as the ‘Best North Carolina Attraction’ (and we agree!) We've gone every year to Bud Break Wine Festival and several other festivals down there.
