No problem. On your lite you should have connectors ready for your work lite already on your tractor .I made my own braket since NH wanted so much but i think i paid 26.00 for the lite at the dealer .On my 2002 tc40d it was wired and had the conector behind the seat on the right side. The rear lights should have a connector so you can undo the wire im not shure about a 2006 .Im glad you got your tractor fixed there a good machine when there running right.

Moyockheel,

Given what they did and the now normal quiet operation, it's pretty good odds that the transmission won't give you any trouble for the next 30+ years.

You may need to continue to use the "expensive" oil. Kubota now wants SUDT to be used in HST's, so it's not a NH only deal.

Full Pull, I'll check on the light tomorrow at the dealer. I think I'll probably get one. I'll post questions and comments after I try to get it installed.

I have always wanted a tractor like I've got. I'm knocking on wood, and crossing fingers, etc. hoping it stays sound. The NH rep at the home office acknowledged receiving my letter. For whatever it's worth, he said he's reviewing my warranty situation. I just hope it doesn't start making the bad noises and having lift problems, ever again.

John, I'm going to request a copy of the service report. I'll post the details including the type of fluid they put in. I hope by tomorrow they have the report written. If not, further prompting is in order...

Thanks for all the help.

Moyock, It took a good while to read through your post here, but it was worth it. I am sorry to hear of the problems you went through.
I am new to Hydro. I understand that they make a whinning noise. The first time I drove my tractor, it made a noise while going forward. I asked the dealer about it and he said that once broken in, it would stop. But this seemed louder than normal. I have a new tc45da with cab - no loader, and the noise was kinda irratating inside. I havn't used it much. I have only had it for 3 days and haven't attached anything to it yet. I mostly mow and this time of year there is no grass. I just hope that this isn't going to be the same problem. It didn't make a sound in reverse.

Go to dealer; ask to drive a few other "new" hydro units and compare.

I would think you will have some/more noise on startup and during cold weather (until oil warms up).

Houndstooth, unless you have a much higher quality cab than I have ever seen on a NH compact tractor, your entire tractor experience will be full of "kinda irritating noise". Not to say that you may or may not have a legitamate problem, but absolutely nothing magnifies and concentrates drivetrain noise like an aftermarket cab.

I have not seen the guts of a NH HST, but it sounds like a pressure relief on the precharge pump due to thicker cold fluid. If so, it's normal and is protecting the HST filter from too high of pressure. Machines make all sorts of noises when cold. Then again, first thing in the morning I do too!

I drove the tractor around yesterday for about 30 minutes. The noise did get alot less loud. I jumped the gun posting I guess. But the fwd/rev pedals seem to rattle. It's like there's a little loose piece of metal vibrating against them. I can't find anything.
RickB, I think I have a good cab. It is not an aftermarket. NH just came out with this model. It is their design and build.
