Technically speaking don't the electrons flow from negative to positive and the holes moves from positive to negative ?

yep.. electron current flow.. negative to positive.

conventional current. is just.. probably because ben franklin had it wrong and that's what people got used to.. positive to negative.. just add in the hole current theory you mentioned and it all kinda works.. :)

Didn't White Freightliner in the distant past use positive grounded systems for a while?

we have a 'white' truck at work that uses positive ground.

I have seen other heavy trucks of that era that even use isolated ground alternators.

In telephony all Central Offices and PBX equipment is positive ground. We always refer to battery voltage as -48 volts. If you hook anything up with a negative ground, you are in for a big surprise:D

Didn't the old Ford 6 volt tractors have positive ground ?

JB

from the 1939 9n thru the 1964 2000/4000 gas models, fords were 6v positive ground.

in 59, diesel 4 cyl models came out and were 12v negative ground.

in 65+ with the 3 cyl's etc, they went all 12v negative ground.

some time in the 70's alternators replaced generators. i believe the 7000, got them first out of the 000 series, then by the x600 series it was alternators as standard.. etc.

A lot of old cars were also positive ground.
I had a 1936 Chevy that had positive ground with the 6volt battery under the floorboard.
