Con-a-bear 220 over the hole and it is pretty much a done deal as long as no pets are sticking their face in there it will take the chuck out real fast.

Man, I went through dealing with Ground Hogs this past summer. My recommendation is also smoke bombs.
You don't have the option of shooting them. That is good, because I found it to be tiring after a while waiting for them to show themselves.
Conibear traps are OK, but after dealing with a few of them, I just found that messy.
Smoke bombs, easy. Light, drop and walk. I come back later with the tractor to fill the hole. No body to deal with either.

If you live trap them you still have to dispose of them somehow.


There's no popular catch and release program when it comes to woodchucks :D

It is probably a female building a den. Get rid of it quick or you will have a whole family running around digging up the fields.

Better than the skunks we had under our house last year.

Drop some Exlax down the hole. He'll love it but it will make him sick. It won't kill him, but he will associate the sickness with the hole and not return. Gotta think like a groundhog.
