Jim, Thanks for the info guys, these things sound like a real pain in the butt,a bit like the bloody rabbits around here. Happy target practice guys! Kerry.
How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood all day?
Or where I live:
How much ground could a groundhog grind if a goundhog could grind ground all day?
There are several threads on Ground Hogs / Woodchucks on TBN. Here is <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.tractorbynet.com/cgi-bin/compact/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=rural&Number=47912&page=&view=&sb=&o=&vc=1#Post47912>one</A>. Do a search on either of these subjects.

Several years ago we had a serious groundhog problem in a 15 acre hay field. The problem was we didn't know they were there until the hay was cut and baled. The field has a slope to it and the ground hog tunnels had started to wash out. We killed more than 30 in a 2-week period. Just put up a deer stand and be in it at daybreak and sunset.
What ever else you do put an extra bullet in them before you pick them up!!
The meat is not bad when hot but once it cools down it becomes very 'greasy' and is not good reheated. Tastes like a cross between beaver and coon.
