It will be Kubota's first real construction tractor I believe. It's a stout package if the specs prove out.

The M59 model is totally new to me so I'm guessing it is a very recent new model from Kubota. What equipment would it compete with, IE, Case 580, Deere, etc??? I'm interested because I've been looking at getting a heavy duty like back-hoe.

I haven't seen anything in it's class yet as the big boys start out around 70 plus horsepower and lack the three point hitch ability which is important for some.

How much does it weigh?

8,870 lbs. Add loaded tires, hyd thumb, and other stuff and you are above 10,000 lbs. I thought about it last night, a machine any bigger than L48/ M59 is too big for landscapers and too small for construction.

I tend to agree. I would think that a enclosed cab might help sell more of them, but since it might take a CDL to pull it in some states, might as well go with a Deere 310 SG, Case 580M, Cat 420, etc and get double the FEL lift capacity, more BH power & dig depth, and 30 more HP.

Would make a nice small to medium digging set-up along with a GMC 44500/5500 dump and a 14K trailer though.

For a landscaper I think it is a good option to have the three point hitch. I do see jobs that can't be done with the full size TLB's so it will be sold to those that can use the smaller unit's flexibility and size.

I've said it for years that there is no one machine for all!

Cab version will probably come next year. While your right that you'll be in a CDL weight class, your also looking at another $30k for a full size machine. The goal here is to not to offer a full size TLB, its to fill the gap between a compact machine and a full size for the niche landscape and light construction guys. I don't think anyone would expect this to replace a Case 580 for highway jobs and such. Take for example someone who does hardscaping, a pallet of stone weights about 2500lbs. Todays compact TBL's won't lift it, but a 580 is simply too large for the application. Given a 3pt and the ability to be a small tool carrier and you've got the perfect setup for a landscaping company.
