First hams don't broadcast, that is a specific type of
transmission prohibited by the FCC. We transmit. Semantics I know
You are right though in a sense. I wish the FCC made it difficult to get the info. Suppose everyone could look up your car license plate online and instantly get your name and address. Suppose everyone could look up your user name on any forum or your email address and instantly get your name and address.
Scary huh?
Although now that I think about it, maybe people would drive much more sanely if they
weren't somewhat anonymous

I bet it would cut way down on aggressive driving and the one finger salute if the guy you flipped off may be waiting in your driveway when you got home
The general public doesn't listen to most ham radio transmissions fortunately, although there are the scanner enthusiasts that listen to the FM repeaters which is a very popular mode. One does have to be careful what is said
on the air. I make it a point to never discuss vacation plans or various other obvious potential problem things on the air you wouldn't want known to the whole world. I do hear some that don't keep this in mind though
