Ham here, also. Got my ticket about 20 years ago, but don't yammer like I used to. Times change, I guess. And I do feel strongly like Skyco on the privacy issue.

You think you got privacy? They CAN find out info about you just by putting in your username, if you've ever registered with a chat board like this one. Try sometime entering your username in one of the major search engines. May be a little more stuff availbale than you would like. For any serious hackers, getting the rest may not be a big challenge anyway. Do you shred all the credit card offers that go in your trash? I'm not a ham, but would like to pass this along: when we had major 100-year flooding here in June, the AT&T lines went out, the hospitals were flooded, but the local ham operators kept the communications going for the sheriff's dept. and the emergency personnel. So, thanks on behalf of the rest of us!

Bringing this old thread forward, Wow I had no idea some of you were ham's that I have seen here for a long time. I have been a ham for 40 years this August. Of course I had recognized the callsign user names, but I did not realize so many others were also hams. Good to see.
