What about suspending one of those self powered ATV mowers from your frontend loader frame. Or better, yet, mount a LandPride FDR2584 from it. Power with hydraulic supply and motor. (I'm workin' on that one for a field mower SomeDay project).

I don't think they will mow out over a ditch.

Getting the needed reach is the challenge.

There are boom type sickles, but, won't work well in wet grass. To cut the wet grass, either the knife/blade must be very sharp or the blade speed must be high. For the wet grass, the best mower is old classical drum mowers which has a speed of about 2000 rpm. See attached small, 4 ft, drum mower. Requires less than 20 hp.

By the way, contrary to the belief, mowing the wet grass is better than let it grow for the health of grass from biological point of view. But, I don't understand much about biology and this claim is not my claim, just a copy & paste of their thoughts of some biology experts.

Woods is a dirty word with me. (at least with mowers) I've owned a few of their mowers and had TERRIBLE luck with them. (Gear box failures/paint shedding in sheets/welds breaking/ect) I still own a Woods rear blade, a box blade, and a pulverizer that have served me well.

Here is another boom type mower, and I believe it is a flail. can use it in all positions.

Tiger has lots of side mounted flail mowers and boom flail mower mounted off either the side or rear. I believe they have rotary mowers as well. I'm thinking of a 8' rear flail coupled with a 4' side mounted flail for whenever I get my 30 acre chestnut orchard installed in a couple of years.

Now, that's good. This sparks me an idea of adding electric boom mower drived by tractor electricity. Will be much simpler than pto driven mowers which cause the mowers complicated and expensive.

I'm thinking of a combo that could be attached to a 3 point or a fel or operated as a pull behind either rite behind the tractor or off set.
