Happy Halloween Everyone!

This was to be the first year the wife didn't carve a pumpkin and put it out (boys are too old to trick r treat now). At the last minute she ran out and grabbed it and started carving. Old habits.....

Nice pictures of your yard. If you are just going to throw that pickup out with the rest of the decorations, I will be down tomorrow to take care of it for you. ;)

Bought a '93 Ford pickup brand new; loved it! Sold it last year, needing a little TLC, and it's sitting in my neighbor's driveway!

Thanks! That's my $2k Ford special w/300 L6.
Curious if others noticed as time goes by less and less trick or treat kids. Many years ago maybe 40-50. Each year less. This year 0!
I'll have to eat all the candy.

Went from 100's of kids in the 70's to not a single one the last 8 years

Thanks. I was curious about that. It was such a big event for us kids, strange how kids don't do that now.

The radio announcer mentioned that he didn't see one smashed pumpkin on his way to work this morning.

This was when my innocence was lost... funny what kids remember.

As a child... one year my brothers and I grew our own pumpkins and made Jack O Lanterns... it was quite a process going from saving seeds the previous year, planting, tending, harvesting and carving... all the way to putting the candles inside.

I was the oldest at 6...

So we put a Pumpkins on the porch with candles… took pictures... neighbors came over to see our creations...

Getting ready for bed we hear noise outside... Dad goes out and sees a car speeding off and all three Pumpkins smashed in the street...

My little brothers started to cry... I was really angry and Mom said some people are just bad with nothing better to do then to make others feel bad too...

Then, as only a Mom can... she said we will have lots of nice pictures even if the Pumpkins are gone...

One Halloween I was at a friend's house on top of a hill, there was a small store down below. A carload of older adults pulled in, and I lit a smoke bomb. No way could I throw it that far to even make it to the parking lot, so I just threw as hard as I could.
Someone in the back had the window down a little and that smoke bomb went inside! They never knew where it came from, all doors opened, one old guy trying to wave smoke out with a handkerchief.

The one time that I thought it would be fun to throw apples at cars, the plan was to lob them in front of their headlights so that it wouldn't do any damage.
I misjudged, and it landed on the hood with a "CRASH!", the driver started to brake and we ran like the dickens.
I never tried that again.

That same friend and went out late a cold Halloween night in his Impala...he was 16, I was 15. We threw water balloons out the window. Then this long country road about midnight some guy riding a bicycle. I held a balloon out the window letting it go hitting him in the back! We could be mean teenagers at times!

Guess I had a boring childhood... can't think of ever doing anything bad... really.

I did break a window playing ball... I knocked on the door and the home owner came out... he thought I threw a rock... I said no... it was a baseball... he said I was going to pay for what I did... I said OK... then he calmed down.

Told the folks and they were none to happy but I did get points for owning up...

Anyway... I was thinking it would take all summer to pay it off... turned out being honest meant something... the man went and bought the glass and putty... put it in and charge me half the material saying it was an old window anyway... he always waved when he saw me for years...
