I have a BX23 and am thinking about buying the Harbor Freight splitter. How do you like the splitter by now? Any problems? Thanks

I like it fine! I wish it would stop snowing to that I could take the back blade off and get back to splitting wood!

Another gentleman with a BX-24 got one and didn't understand that YOU MUST have the quick-hitch to use this splitter so that you get enough clearance between the PTO housing and the rear of the hydraulic cylinder.

Enjoy!

Do you happen to have the Harbor Freight quick hitch?

Yes, I do use the HF quick-hitch. Be sure to order the top-link adapter while you're there; you'll need it since the QH hook won't work with the splitter.
The hitch adapter (29309-0VGA)can be ordered online "From Printed Catalog" or at the store.

There are two HF quick hitches! I recommend the 27.5" hitch, but you need to measure your attachments and decide for yourself.

I hope that this helps,

Al

Thanks!

Used the splitter again yesterday to split some Black Locust that had been curing all winter.

I so love that splitter! I just wheeled it next to the tractor in the barn, hooked up, split away, disconnected, and rolled it back into the corner. I'll probably be taking it into the woods with me this summer when I cut standing dead-wood, but the wheels and long hoses make it a dream for splitting just a few pieces in the barn.

Al, you are having way too much fun with that splitter. Your wheels are obviously working out well.

I have a question about a hydralic pump on my kobota i bleve it is L 3000 i think, anyway on the front end loader valve it has 3 hoses coming to it 1 is marked out the other 1 is marked in and the other 1 is not marked but goes to the pump, is this line live and if so why is the two live lines going to the pump?

If it is like my L3010 the 3 hoses come from or go to the hydraulic block in the center of the tractor. The one marked IN should come from the pump connection. The one marked OUT should be your return to tank. The one you say is unmarked may have a P on it and this is the FEL valve power beyond output which goes to your 3ph through the selector valve on the hydraulic block. This info should be in your owners manuals for both the tractor and the FEL.
