Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

I need a bigger air compressor but I won't let myself put all that money down for a HE tool

Based on what?

Find me a 60 gallon, true 5 hp, 2 stage compressor with 15+ cfm @ 90psi and inter-cooler for less than $1000.

Facts please?

I used my HF spray gun for the first time today. I'm impressed.

There are presently coupons for one version @ $10 and another @ $20 that includes a regulator at the gun. Link - both.

What's the difference aside from the regulator? I have the 6 cfm $10 version, vs 12 cfm specified for the one with regulator. What does that get you?

I mounted a pressure gauge at the gun inlet, and a regulator/water filter 8 ft before the gun. Adjusted there for 40 psi at the gun while spraying. After a quart of paint through the gun, the little water filter loaded up. I should have mounted my larger water filter another 50 ft back, at the compressor. Not a gun fault, just user inexperience.

You do know that we already proved that the HF compressors are made (mostly) in the USA by the same Italian owned factory workers that make several 'brand names', and much more expensive, ones right?

Keep in mind that original thread was from 2009, and the one pdf was from 1998. Can someone confirm these are the same compressors, and the country of origin? When I tried to track that down it looked like the phone numbers changed and were going to California now? If I get in a HF soon, I'll try to look at one for a label. Either way though, these look like they are hard to beat for the price.

good point. They change suppliers based on good deals too. And not necessarily to get better quality.
so yes, like food, read the label. Thankfully we have laws requiring those labels.

Thanks for the link. I've been busy and I have not had a chance to reply. I saw you quoted my post on my phone on the tapatalk app. They had the impact I am interested in. Their sale price is the same is what amazon has the set for. I did not order it. There are a couple of other things up higher on my want list right now.

No response necessary. Just looked pretty good prices on Amazon for that impact wrench. I have purchased a few Milwaukee tools from several different Amazon vendors for deep discounts over list. For the most part I've been fully satisfied though one turned out to actually be recon unit but was advertised as new, though it was serialized RC on the handle with an engraver and had no packaging or paperwork. I kept it because the price was so decent and really couldn't find anything wrong with it. It was a M12 1/4 hex drive adjustable clutch screwdriver/drill

Another, my M12 BT speaker best I could tell was absolutely new but wasn't in it's sealed factory packaging. I think they may removed the packaging to use a smaller shipping box :confused2: but had all the paperwork with it.

And the 3rd a right angle M12 drill was in factory sealed box...perfect and really great price! Really cool tool with the electronic clutch. Wish the 3/8 drive ratchet had that feature. It just shuts off when the setting is reached...no torque twist when it stops and no ratcheting sound either.
