having trouble making a decision. Used 4510 w/ about 800 hours for $15400, or new 3320 for $19200.

Both have loaders, power reverser & 4wd, 4510 has the mid mount hydraulics but I doubt if I'd use it.

We have 70 acres but 30 of it is heavily wooded & some is creek bottom, and we won't clear much if any of that. My main uses are going to be digging/loading top soil from the creek bottom for the front yard, tilling the garden, blading the 1/3 mile gravel driveway, spraying up to 40 acres w/ a 110 gallon sprayer every couple years, & brush hogging 20 acres a few times, oh and maybe running a 6' finish mower on a few acres. I plan to eventually have about 40 acres of hay but will not do it myself other than the spraying.

I'm fine with hydro or power reverser so I'm pricing the 3320 w/ PR to compare apples to apples, I might upgrade to hydro if I decide to go new. I previously brush hogged my entire 40 acres with a 790 collar shift & 5' brush hog twice, took about 40 hours but it did fine. It will never be as brushy as it was on that first mowing so w/ a 6' cutter I can probably do it in 8-12 hours I'm hoping. But that will only be maybe once more until it's ready for hay equipment.

I like the warranty & "newness" but I also like the $3000 savings & the larger frame tractor. (0% on the 3320 saves $1000 over the 4510). I know the deals are both good enough that I'd not lose any money in a year if I decided to upgrade.

thanks for any additional input.

Personally I would go with the new 3320 - PRT or eHydro, your choice - you will know how it has been maintained from Day 1, and will get 0% Financing to boot!

That's kind of how I was leaning. But I just keep dreaming about what I could do with the extra $3k and the extra power! I've also had very good luck selling these little used compacts after using them for a year and really slicking them up & making them look new..

IMHO, having used both I prefer the large frame machine. I like the stronger loader and the size was'nt an issue for me. Either sounds like a nice machine - Good luck making a decision. Remember, you'll be using it - not us.

Thanks. So how much larger will the 4510 actually be? I know it is somewhere between a new 4x20 series and the new 3x20 series. It does have about 20% more rear lift capacity and a few inches more wheelbase than the 3320, but it's only 300 lbs heavier so it can't be too much larger. I also need to be able to get into the trees because I like to cut trails and mow in teh woods..

Without a loader on either tractor, neither with loaded tires - the 4510 should outweigh the 3320 about 600 lbs. Once both have the applicable loader mounted and if the tires are loaded it's going to be over 1000 lbs. I'd say. Size wise the 4510 should compare well with the 4x20 series machines.

I have no experience in this class of tractor but, your tasks look to be quite large, therefore, I would go with the larger tractor.

Spraying 40 acres....that's big in my mind.

Well I bought the 4510. $15,400 w/ 740 hours & had a shiny new seat and a full service. It is a power reverser w/ loader & canopy. I took it home and put about 8 hours on it mowing, blading the driveway and loading like crazy. Had a lot of backed up chores. Even dug a good sized hole to dump some construction debris. It's doing great. I could never really dig w/ my little 790 loader.

As far as the compared with the 3320, this thing seems huge and has heavier duty axles, much larger tires, etc. It is also much more comfortable. Probably a combination of the larger tires and bigger wheelbase. Just doesn't shake me around nearly as much as my smaller 770 and 790 did and the 3320 I test drove was way too bouncy compare with the 4510.

The only minor problem (i hope is minor) is that the loader seems to have a small hitch in it once in a while when tilting the bucket down, didn't do it when I test drove it of course. It just sort of catches slightly and then continues to go down and only does it about once every 10 times. I used to have a 790 w/ a loader and it did the same thing. I'm going to contact the dealer and see what that could be.

You're gonna like that power-reverser...great transmission!

Congratulations on the new tractor!

The "problem" you are experiencing is normal, it is a byproduct of the "regenerative"or "fast dump" function of the loader valve. Do search for the term "regen" for some reading on it...probably when this happened the bucket was empty? In short, just don't push the joystick so far to the left when dumping a empty bucket.

here's a couple of pics. These are from the dealer, don't have any of my own yet. still love the tractor. It's so much more tractor than my 790. I do like the power reverser but still have some getting used to. I normally hit the clutch when changing directions out of habit. The nicest thing about the tranny is it's fully synchronized unlike the old collar shift. This loader has amazing break out force as well, I can dig a whole bucket of top soil from the creek bottom and it handles a very full bucket great.

Looks like a good choice to me, I think you will find this more capable than the smaller newer tractor. Looks well cared for which usually means well serviced too.

I dont think this tractor has enough power or enough gallons in your sprayer... 110 gallons might take around 2 days to spray all those acres. Maybe look in to a 5000E/M Series. Try getting a trailed sprayer too.
